Alan Dershowitz: When Trump Is Acquitted He Will No Longer Be Impeached – The Impeachment Disappears

Former Harvard Law Professor and noted author Alan Dershowitz had more bad news for Democrats on Friday night.

When President Trump is acquitted next week he will no longer be impeached. It will be over. It will be removed from his record.

Sorry, Nancy.
The charade is over.

"Alan Dershowitz: Nancy Pelosi has pulled a real sharp one. She’s said even if he’s acquitted and vindicated he’s still impeached. That should not be how it is. Why? He did not have a fair trial. He was indicted. And what happens if a person is acquitted after indictment? The indictment disappears… And when you deny someone due process saying, “Well we’re only indicting him.” You can’t come back and say, “But he’s still indicted!” If he wins this I think no one should regard him as having been impeached anymore than you would regard someone who’s indicted as still being indicted if he won a unanimous twelve person jury."

An America I was reminded about today

Today I met a dinosaur. Irish Catholic, native New Yorker, thick, thick accent. A Vietnam veteran, three tours of duty, infantry division, a grunt, a purple heart recepient, son of a World War II veteran, son of an Irish Catholic mother, also a native New Yorker. It was like listening to a Father Flannigan speech. In fact his father and mother took him to Church one day, made him listen to the Priests sermon (written for him and delivered in English), and after the service, his father pulled him aside and said 'Son quit f*ckin' around...enlist tomorrow for four years, it can't hurt. Next day he dutifully listened to his father's last
advice, kissed his mother goodbye.... and headed for basic training via Fort Hood (anybody remember Fort Hood).

He made it through Vietnam, managed to keep his sense of humor and his life. He came back to the states, back to the bronx, became a security specialist for corporate executives, put in his 40, retired and right at this very moment he's headed to the Super Bowl. Told me he had to be in line four (4) hours before kickoff for security reasons....he figured that was a good thing for everyone.

Back then, before this story, he and I both were headed to Vietnam (1972), me by way of an ROTC scholarship and my paybacks, him by way of his fathers right foot his Irish temper, and that of his mothers equally displaced temperament of love and family tradition to service of ones country.
He wasn't making a point, he wasn't asking for a thank you. It just came out in the conversation while we were wishing him a safe flight. 'Hey, I don't fly the plane, I'm just in it.'

He related one quick story....midnight he was pulled from his bunk, told to 'form a line'...pointed to a plane and later told he was now in Cambodia. 600 men were deployed in what was, at that time, not a safe place for those men who questioned orders or Sergeants. 200 men, he related, flew back out of Cambodia a week later....he said his Thank yous to God, got an R&R ticket home to the states, spent two months finishing the hitch at home.... then re upped for his 3rd tour. Said "he owed it to the men he walked over"....(as in the dead). True story told by a true hero I met during the course of a handshake.

So I listen to today's men, today's children, today's political posturing, and today's whiny disgusting bleeding heart liberals, throwing rocks from their safe spaces, their mealy mouth opinions that have not one ounce of truth or conviction, just Hate. Rocks thrown from behind computer walls, men and women not fit to share this space via these words...well, it's something he reminded me of as I listened. Something I forgot...... But that I won't begin to share with you.....you're not entitled.

Senator 'heads on a pike'

Today in Vanity Fair;

Certainly not the first people to compare Trump's White House to the mafia.
Given Trump's mafia ties, I suppose it is no longer surprising.

America vs. America

Think we will hear some of the defense today, it can be interesting.

In what ever I have written about Trump, a main question for me have to do with the polarisation of the people. You have two main parties in battle over different politics. You have strong opposition to the impeachment. For me it has become a bit clearer now.
There are two oposing narratives, which is like taken out of a spy novel. There are Fox, CNN, RT news, CBS, etc.

It is pretty strange that Trump have had that many phone calls with Putin, and some have wondered about that connection. It may very well be very simple - he may believe the Giuliani thread of stories. Giuliani may believe Giuliani. And opposed to this, you have what the House investigation believes.

In any case, it should not be all that difficult to present the opposing camps of beliefs and flesh out what is true or not. The President have some explaining to do. If he cannot explain what the facts are, then he is deceiving the nation.

Present the facts.

REPORT: Impeachment Is Driving 1,000 Republican Candidates To Run For House Seats This Year

Hundreds of Americans have been inspired to run for Congress as Republicans this year.

Mostly because they are outraged by what the Democrats are doing with impeachment.

Taking control of the House will be a numbers game and with this many people running, the odds are very good.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Impeachment drives 1,000 GOP candidates to run for House

Pennsylvanian James Bognet had been around local and presidential politics for a long time before landing a dream job as a senior vice president at the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

“I was really honored to get a chance to work in the Trump administration,” said Bognet, 44, a veteran of several campaigns, including those for former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

“It’s really cool for a small-town kid from Hazleton, Pennsylvania,” added Bognet, who worked with the White House on President Trump’s manufacturing agenda.

But like many Republicans inside and out of the administration, the Democratic drive to impeach Trump angered him, and he started watching his hometown Democratic congressman, Matt Cartwright, to see if he would vote against Trump…

He’s not the only one.

According to Minnesota Rep. Tom Emmer, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, impeachment has helped to push about 1,000 Republicans to file to run for House seats this year.

“I think that they are one in the same,” he said of his success in building an army of candidates and the influence of impeachment on their decisions.

Taking the House away from Democrats and holding the Senate would completely deprive Democrats of the ability to continue their sham attacks on Trump.

Democrats deserve to lose the House.

Since taking control, they have ignored the people’s business in favor of chasing their obsession with impeachment.

Freedom

The foundation principles for the Declaration of Independence was to address grievances and separate a people from a tyrannical king that under his rule mounted an unsurpassable form of government that harshly treated his subjects and gave no hope of reconciling those conditions to better the relationship between king and subject.
Today we are re-living that same atmosphere of dysfunction and split opinions and beliefs that faced the citizens of the original thirteen with the attacks that are being waged against those who continue to fight for freedoms and those who oppose freedom of individual and individual rights.
If you , as back then, speak or utter words of disagreement against the current self proclaimed king you are labeled a fascist, racist. bigoted hater simply for believing in the freedom granted by the original thirteen. Who BTW risked their very lives and pledged to place themselves in that risk all to bring you a free nation in which you can live. And let's not forget the countless lives lost in that battle as well.
Today we do have a dysfunctional atmosphere and our so called leaders are more interested, as was the kings court, in their views and wants versus what is needed to be done. I urge you to re-read the Declaration of Independence and pay attention to how the words were carefully chosen in that document that started this country on the path to freedom. You will see in those very words the price of freedom and the addresses of concerns that those who wrote back then and compare it to today. Not much difference..
The very same ideology that was against freedom then has been resurrected in today's Progressive party and is being used in the very same manner as it was over 243 years ago. To defeat a people who strive for freedom you must first knock them down and keep them down. The lessor of 2 evils is hardly the right choice to make, but making a choice between freedom and inapt servitude should be your concern with what is happening today and the attacks on our freedom and safety by a ruthless political party that has "self serving" ideas as to how a free people should live.

Senate impeachment rules

The Senate is a disappointment in a sham trial, when it reject documents and witnesses. Every nation around the world is following this with great interest.

The Senators take an oath as juror’s and judge’s and should be impartial, but their many votes tell something else. They seem to go along with their dishonest and criminal President.

Trump cannot be trusted. He turn on many of his allies, he trashes normal dialog and behavior, imposes sanctions, breaking up agreements, issue tariffs, military strikes at other countries, etc.

The whole world have followed the circus, but have somehow put up with it, because they have viewed him as unruly and out of control. When he is impeached, everyone expect that America would step up to the situation.

Now, just for a moment try to view this from outside the country. United States preach about morals and democracy, liberty and freedoms, sits in a number of International organizations, - what do they see ?

Do they see anything to admire, someone to trust, something of honour and dignity ?
