Laws Vs Commandments

Who here knows the difference?
Can you give an example of this?
What are the laws?

The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves.

“You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.”

“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you,
none can make you spiritual.
There is no other teacher but your own soul.”

“We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far. ”

“In a day, when you don't come across any problems - you can be sure that you are travelling in a wrong path”

“In a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart. ”

“Neither seek nor avoid, take what comes.”

“The fire that warms us can also consume us; it is not the fault of the fire.”

“Feel nothing, know nothing, do nothing, have nothing, give up all to God, and say utterly, 'Thy will be done.' We only dream this bondage. Wake up and let it go.”

“Learn Everything that is Good from Others, but bring it in, and in your own way absorb it; do not become others.”

“Was there ever a more horrible blasphemy than the statement that all the knowledge of God is confined to this or that book? How dare men call God infinite, and yet try to compress Him within the covers of a little book!”

In Bangladesh Buddhist are killing Muslims from Myanmar, people running away from their country.

Not even in Myanmar are welcome. Buddhist? I thought their believes were, every living thing

You can believe in any book you want but you cannae deny this:

The clip below answers in a very simple way why science and logic should always take precedence over superstition. By no means I am advocating against superstition or religion etc. What am saying is: Believe as much as you want (I chose to myself after all) BUT BE RATIONAL IN YOUR BELIEF. The consequences of not abiding by that can be dire.

PS: Blog structure (i.e. half a word + youtube clip) was inspired by freedom of speech.

All we will ever be?

Either the writer of Game of Thrones is a genius or he/she has a very vivid imagination mixed with a philosophical thinking that does not hold too much water. I am at a part in the series where a very profound statement has been made. I have just began to ponder it. I like thinking about things on my own first to see how valid points/philosophical statements are...but this one might take some time, time unfortunately I do not have a lot of lately. Getting some perspective here will certainly help.

The statement: "Hopes and dreams, and loves and fears will all we will ever be." Is it possible if we boil down everything in our lives into the most simplest forms, does this statement hold validity?

These four essential life characteristics do all pertain to the self. That is for sure.

The part in the series has to do with teaching a young girl to be nobody.

Is it better to be somebody or nobody?

dunno

The reason why I ask, to be somebody, carries an ego attached. From things I have seen and heard in the past, your ego is not your amigo. laugh

Palm Sunday

Today we celebrate a day almost 2,000 years ago
that a man road a donkey into the area's capital
city to become the King of Man.
We call it Palm Sunday because the people lining
the road threw palm fronds on the road to cushion
roadway and form a welcoming carpet.
All did not turn out as expected. All did not turn out
well........or did it?
Stories have been written, songs have been sung,
and wars have been fought.
Man was not ready then to accept a savior.
Man is not ready now to welcome the redeemer.

But, as it was then, so is it now.

The time has come when we will write new stories,
sing new songs and fight new wars.

Will it all turn out as we expect? Or will we
even survive...........angel

The Anti-Christ

For centuries (if not longer) the Anti-Christ has been talked about. We have been led to believe that the Anti-Christ was going to be a figure-head (person) and he would at one time or another in our future come. When he has arrived, it was supposed that it would not be a good thing for humanity, and some would say he would bring outright evil.

Now, talking with a friend, it had occurred that with the turning away from the Christian religion...I am not saying that everyone should convert to Christianity...but I am talking about the decline in people being part of the Christian religion. I think I heard one time, about 10 years ago, there has been a 40% decline in people proclaiming to be Catholic, compared to the 1950's.

With this decline, people, by default, are turning away from the Bible. The Bible is the teaching of Jesus Christ (Word of God). Does it not make sense, if you are turning away from the teaching of Jesus Christ, you are therefore an anti-Christ?
