Intelligent Design

There seems to be a narcissistic belief among people who follow religious dogma that human beings are extremely well designed and that they are the pinnacle of perfection. As though their creator couldn't possibly create a living being especially in the image of the creator himself, which could be flawed or inferior in any way. This concept of humans being created in the image of God must, by definition, represent absolute perfection, nothing could be more perfect than God himself they reason, and if man was created in his image, it follows therefore that man must be perfect.

If this were true, humans would be stronger, faster, able to catch and kill other creatures for food with tooth & fang & claw. Instead, humans are probably the weakest animal in the forest, jungle or sea. They can't outrun a pig or even a squirrel, even a Chimpanzee is stronger, a female lion could catch and kill Arnold Schwarzenegger from 50 yards in about 30 seconds and he is one of the strongest examples of manhood there is. Take a human out of the jungle and drop him in a lake and he will drown. Drop almost any other land animal in a lake, Cat, Dog, Cow, and they will simply swim to shore though they never got swimming lessons.
So where do these people come up with saying humans are designed Intelligently when they are in fact a really inferior design? It really contradicts the notion that man was created in the image of a God. The whole idea is nonsensical.

Intelligent Design? I don't think so!

The soldier possession

I had this dream in June 2004 . . .

=================

There was a warrior who died in battle, but didn't go to heaven. I'm not sure exactly if he was in hell, I didn't get the feeling he was though. It seemed more like a purgatory type place.

Anyway, he felt he was wronged by his not being accepted into heaven. He possessed a little girl, expecting that she would be exorcised. Well, my impression was that, this warrior believed he would gain entry into heaven, through this girls exorcism.

What sucks is, the dream never actually finished. So I don't know if his plan even worked or not.
dunno uh oh confused sigh

Personal force field belts of the lesser gods

It is important to remember that when the 'lesser gods' first arrived on Earth long, long ago the light personal force fields they wore as body armor when interacting with our long ago ancestors only had to be capable of repelling an assault by stick, spear, rock, club and much later arrows and swords.
The myths and folklore of Man's civilizations do not record any evidence of technological advancements occurring inside the communities of the lesser gods. Most cultural myths have the lesser gods vanishing from Man's sight shortly after the invention of the bow or at least the Long bow. Numerous myths of different cultures imply all of the lesser gods did not flee or leave the planer, but instead adopted a much lower profile and are rarely if ever seen.
This may be simple self preservation on their part. Although they are somewhat impervious to hand held objects such as a stone or an ax, there do not exist many account of lesser gods, devils or angels walking up the stream of fire from a Maxim gun, or even an older Gatling gun. Their protective devices fall way short of Diana's bracelets or even Captain America's shield.
This is because of design limitations in their protective force field devices. Whether we speak of the Gods of Olympus or demons from Hell their protective armor seems to be based on converting kinetic impact energy into heat dispensed by a radiator worn on the individual godling's back or the horns of their helmet.
this worked well when the threat was Ooog throwing a big rock or Alley Oop's wife stabbing with a dagger.
Impact energy is convertible into wattage at a conversion rate of 1 foot pound is equal to 1..36 Watts of energy. It can be presumed that there is a wire mesh somewhere in a vest that conducts the captured energy to the previously mentioned radiator. How much energy can those wires conduct before melting?
I suspect this is why as the Long bow and the crossbow began to emerge you didn't see much of the demon/angel folk anymore. Simply put the energy dumped on target by those weapons is much greater than the wire mesh of their body armor or force fields can conduct or absorb.
Consider a modern .50 Browning Machine Gun bullet on average generates about 4,500 foot pounds of muzzle energy. That is 6,120 Watts of power per bullet. This against a force field designed thousands of years ago (with no signs of every being upgraded) to resist maybe 200 foot pounds of energy from a stone hurled from Alley Oop's sling.

Remember if it is not Human, then it is not a crime to vanquish it. :)

Belief in Canada

I just had an interesting conversation with one of my old History teachers from way back in High school,
We talked for about an hour, from family to Covid all the way back to history, the topic of religion was brought up, and seeing how Canada is so open and actually one of the most well off, top atheist countries in the world,
Seeing how the fastest growing religion in Canada by far is Islam, from immigration and fertility rates.
I wonder how people not only from inside Canada, but also outside around the world would accept that ?
Is it a good thing to eventually have something most the population can believe in one day ? or is there still what is called Islamophilia ?

The Founders Warnings

Haiku. The poetry that does not rhyme

Haiku, unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively. The haiku first emerged in Japanese literature during the 17th century, as a terse reaction to elaborate poetic traditions, though it did not become known by the name haiku until the 19th century.

So, you have three lines.

First line, five syllables.
Second line, seven syllables.
Final line, again five syllables.

Popular in Japan for describing the Cherry Brossoms and mist along the mountains.

But one of my favorites is:

You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will sure show you.

Okay. Now you try.

Spiritual Awakening is Awakening from the Dream of

Thought....The realm of consciousness is much vaster than thought can grasp. When you no longer believe everything you think, you step out of thought and see clearly that the thinker is not who you are.

Visitation Dreams:

It's claimed 2/3 of the widowed have had dreams in which their deceased spouse visits them. (Hence the term roll eyes )

These dreams differ from ordinary dreams in several ways...
They are very realistic - usually devoid of fantastic & absurd qualities.
They are very lucid - having a feeling of reality & immediacy.
They are easily remembered, and remembered for a long period of time...
more like a the memory of an actual event.

This subject came up in another venue, the CS Poetry Corner. (CSers are a talented bunch, are we not. grin )
The poem, "Was It Really You", by Abby1963, can be seen in the "poetry" area.
For those unfamiliar, it is a quite realistic portrayal of the phenomenon.

So...
Have any of you had such an experience?
What do you believe is the origin/cause?
What was your feeling about/response to the dream?
Have you experienced any other similar phenomena?

BTW- This is not exclusive to the widowed...
Others report such visits from parents, grandparents, siblings & such.

And, before you ask...Yes, I'm in that 2/3 group.

A Different Kind of Loneliness

Today I learned that being lonely and alone isn’t all that terrible. God shared with me that I don’t love myself and it’s apparent by my actions. I don’t go to bed on time, I drink too much, I don’t get ready for work, my hygiene is questionable and my weight has skyrocketed. He makes a fair point. I don’t have a comeback. Like I ever did anyway. So He said you are not ready for a relationship at all...at all! Today He said that very loud and clear. He finally told me why He’s been telling me no for years. All I could do was receive His gentle correction. I don’t know what to say. I don’t have anything to say. All I know is that I’m willing to stay single for Him now no matter how long it takes. This is a big step for me because I was never willing to do that before. But when God talks to you that clearly, you listen. There’s nothing you can do but listen. Recently I told a guy friend how I felt about him. He prayed to God about if we could be together. God told him to tell me no. So he came back to me and said God said not now. Gee I wonder why. I think He finally told me why because He knows I’m in love with this man. Totally in love. I’ve known this man for years and he’s the one. But I’m glad God finally told me today hey you’re messed up! I won’t give you anyone until you fix that. So this aloneness I feel is good. It’s different. It’s a purposeful loneliness. It will be guided by Him.

And thanks for reading. I needed to share this with strangers and not on Facebook. It’s too personal for Facebook. Sometimes you just gotta share with strangers.
