Yesterday on the way home from work, after leaving the highway, I was on a residential street.

As I'm driving I see three boys kicking a girl on the ground.

I stopped the car to approach the boys but they ran away.

As I pulled away I thought, I'll go around the block. By the time I get around they will be back out there, and that's what happened.

This time all four kids were standing. I got out of the car and said I'd like to talk to you. They were a bit apprehensive but they could see I didn't have an ax in my hand.

I asked them, do you think it's nice to kick a girl. They started laughing. I was shocked that they would laugh at this and said, why do you think it's okay to kick and hit a girl.

One of the boys said "We wouldn't do that" and I said, then why are you doing it.

The kid that was being kicked said "I'm a boy". I was so embarrassed.

I felt like a fool mostly because I didn't want to make the boy feel uncomfortable cause I thought he looked like a girl. He had long black hair so I assumed he was a she. I know what "assume" means and I was sure one of those last night.

I think we have all done that. I just said: "Sorry dude, with your hair like that I thought you were a girl." I shrugged my shoulders and walked away.

I think it was a good thing that you stopped at all, a lot of people wouldn't have... and it still isn't right 3 boys kicking someone on the ground, whether it's a boy or a girl...

laugh I think it's a rather funny storyy, actually. No need to be embarrassed. If he looked like a girl, then it was an honest mistake. It's good that you stopped though. These days, few enough people bother.

Very human what you did, Snug thumbs up Bravo.

As for you feeling embarrassed ... Don't! It is irrelevant in this situation.

BTW two of my sons have long haircuts ... and sometimes they are mistaken for a girls. But again look at Sigal or any Mettal or Rock musician ... or an artist or anyone from a Bohema Society ... no one calls then a girl.

Someone said it is no matter who are they boy or a girl ... NO ONE has to be beaten by a gang.

First off, hug peace handshake cheers gift bouquet for stopping or even noticing at all!!!

Second, as a "dude that has hair like a lady" might I just say if three people had me down kicking me I would NOT repeat NOT care if the only help I got came because someone mistook me as a lady. seriously, though I am laughing as I say that, the fact remains it wouldn't matter WHY I would just be glad they DID.

So again, hug bouquet
