Another problem is MTV and all the shows (not just MTV but they are a good one for my arguement)That show all the gangs in song and video, shows that support gangs and drugs and the such should IMO be payperview if allowed on TV at all. These shows are ok for prime time but Bugs Bunny and woody Woodpecker and the three stooges were banned because of Elmer Fudd trying to hunt down Bugs. Go figure that for me.
Whooops: Perhaps it is my niaivity of living in a country where we dont believe guns should be so readily available but, instead of trying to arm the world shouldnt we be trying to remove guns from the world instead, and reduce the risk of our young people having access to them ??
That is a nice idea I will agree (in a perfect world) but I am not sure that will work ,I saw a show not long ago in Russia where they tryed to stop a car for a minor ticket and he ran ,they caught him and he had seven guns with him in the car.

Yes,they will give them all up! Just ask them nicely, like Pretty Please with a Cherry on top!
CaptainBeirutIII: Couldn’t you rebuild the schools, all of them, and install some sort of landmine system, which the teacher could fire with a remote he/she kept close all the time?
As soon as a kid got suspiciously upset and reached for something in his/her pocket, the teacher could just press a button with the desk and the kid sat there blown to smithereens.
How about a camera system, one camera in every students room, and guided rocket launchers on the roof top of the school?
Someone at school monitoring every kid, and as soon as one of them put on a Marilyn Manson track, then stared odd in his/her mirror, the school could send off a rocket and blow him/her up with his room, before he even got a chance to make it to school?
How about the kids at schools which are bullied? Why not have them fill in an application and apply for a special licence that will allow them to walk the halls, between classes, with a gun in their belt?
Why stop at school? With the terrorist threat, and all, shouldn’t every American be carrying guns all the time, just in case someone with their head wrapped in a turban holding a dodgy suitcase walks past?
Can I ask you, since banks took in armed guards, and your average corner shop, the bloke working there started to keep a gun below the register, did armed robberies all of a sudden drop to zero over there, or have they it in fact increased in numbers over the years?
CaptainBeirutIII: I'm not sure how you can see that as a serious statement of mine. The whole post was a caricature and not how I view America or Americans in general. That should be obvious.
All caricature and humour is based on reality and that was not very good, of course it is IMO only and you are free to see these things as humour if you wish to do so,Perhaps I missed your meaning in your post if so I am sorry, if not then there ya go.

The point I was trying to make was how wrong I find the idea buzzy presented on the first page where he suggested that a solution to the problem with mass murder shootings at your schools would be to arm everyone amongst the staff.
First of all, that doesn’t sound like a school anymore, it sounds like a correctional facility.
Kids in their teens rebel. I did it, you did it, I’m sure, we all do, in various ways. Some among us dye the hair pink and pierce the eyelid. Some of us buy a guitar, stand on the roof and bang out riffs, and some of us fight any authority we come across. In many schools there is enough tension between students and teachers as it is. Can you imagine a handful of students on collision course with a teacher, constant bickering and brawls, can you imagine what a gun toting teacher would add to that tension? I can’t see that creating a safer environment, not for anyone.
But the greater worry I have about such way of approaching the problem is that it pushes a whole nation towards a negative. Instead of dealing with the core of the problem, you basically give up and encourage a thinking based on suspicion, and a “better safe than sorry” kind of trigger-happy gunslinger society. Hence my overly comical approach in my reply.
And one thing I feel buzzy totally omits is that people are people. What on earth says that one day a teacher will not go ballistic, pull out his gun, and shoot an entire class?
What then, arm everybody?
I mean, we’re all familiar with the phrase “going postal”, and we know where it comes from. Should all the letters we receive be received with a gun-belt around our hip, because some postal workers lost it?

I agree with this ,but try not to see Americans as all gun toting gunslingers waiting to shoot someone with a turban , I see now your point of course ,but you must see that as Americans we have a lot of attitude towards your 2ND admendment and terrorism and I sorta took it wrong and I am sorry for that ,but not all Americans think guns are the answer and I try to let the world see that......

Oh, trust me, I don't view all Americans like that. However, I must admit that when I have had discussion with Americans (and I've been fortunate to meet many), who are keen on pulling the gun as a solution, it's been damn near impossible to have a calm discussion. It's like holy territory, a no-go for a non-american. That's not meant as you are one of them, or buzzy will be. Simply my past experience.

Perhaps it should start at home with parents teaching by example ? I realised my question was aimed at a culture where guns are your right but that's not the same in the UK, we have problems of course, but not to the same extent and perhaps that's because our culture is different and non accepting of guns parse ? I should have expected the sarcasm but i thought it was a serious debate about how can we reduce mass shootings and it was just a suggestion, a talking point ?

Got problems? Want to send someone to collect MY Firearms at 4AM? The Rights of Citizens are NOT up for Discussion!
romeo22: Do you think before institutions admit student in a school or any institutions, psychologist MUST crosscheck their prospective students psychological health?..can can authorities stop mass shooting?..should we sit down and loose our loved ones, families, our intellectuals?
yea, thats it...we need BIG BROTHER to sort it all out for us....give me a break
