I'd highly recommend that you keep your son away from all so-called "energy drinks" and Cola drinks because they're known to be spiked with ingredients that are causing such seizures in teenagers (especially aspartame!). Tell him to go "organic" immediately. And don't listen to anyone in white coats!

I agree with the advice here, Sam...you have the same distrust of the medical profession that I do, I see.Though I'd start in the hospital for diagnostics...look into nutritional factors that can cause it, especially if he hasn't had any recent head trauma and seizures don't run in your family. The CT scan and MRI they'll run are good measures, though.

I'm probably grabbing the bus, which is a 30+ hour ride with layovers... ack!!

Yes, those high energy drinks are very bad IF he takes them. I don't know too many who do unless they are in college. I will be checking in to hear some good news.
