Look at the forums when someone new comes along and introduces themselves to you

The majority of people on the forums are only here for some banter.... to make themselves feel good.. which explains why so many who participate are either married or in a relationship..... sorry, but I thought the idea of a singles site was for SINGLES !
I am also getting rather tired of people saying to me..... you have not been on this site long enough to have an opinion..... how long do I have to be here.... or do you just want to drag me down to the lonely hearts level.
I have met some really good woman here, the number of which I can count on one hand....... That does not say much for an international site boasting so many members, or are the members so shallow, they can not actually allow themselves to be human !!

some of the things my x wife has dug up on her family is mind blowing though
not fair how her uncle was punished for stealing a loaf of bread though typical poms get rid of the riff raff they take them away from ther familys and send them to a country they had just stolen from the aborigonal people

apperantly my wifes uncles accent had changed from what she had read up on and he got into a lot of trouble too escaped a couple off times stole from the guards he some how you can say was very pissed of got even a few lashes and punched out a british soilder and stole his uniform left him tied to a pole naked

Seriously. I agree with a lot of what you say. I'm a single person and primarily here for the banter... and if the banter makes me feel good, then where's the problem in that? Should I feel bad about it? or should I stay away? What would you have me do?
I can only speak for myself, not for others. I've never and would never tell someone that if they hang around long enough, they'll meet someone. I think those comments are politenesses that aren't meant to be taken too seriously, to be honest. It's sort of on the level where you ask someone how they're doing, but you really don't want to hear the answer.
My opinion, for what it's worth, is that if you met a handfull of women who are good and decent people, you've done well.
I have no idea how many members there are on this website in reality, but I think it's probably fewer than advertised, as it is on all other websites.
I can assure that I, personally, do not intend to drag you down to the lonely hearts level. I'm not a "lonely heart" and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a post of mine sobbing about being alone, depressed, looking for love, waiting for "the one" and so forth.
There are a lot of issues packed into your thread and it seems to me to boil down to this:
What were your expectations when you signed on? Were or are they realistic? How many women did you expect to meet?
