While it's true that many aren't collected from - the hospitals get to write it off of all the other millions they make on CT scans, surgery, beds, supplies, nursing, etc etc etc etc
And who do you think gets to pay for it when they write it off. And I do agree it is not just the illegals causing a drain on this.
And the real reason they're going broke is because they have HUGE top-heavy administrations and managerial staffing that makes just opening the doors expensive.
They have simply priced themselves outta business - because they've NEVER been regulated and now we can't afford them...
And, the School systems are the same .....HUGE administrations with dramatically overpaid executives driving new Corvettes and staying in hotel penhouse suites for their constant seminars.
That seems to be a problem just not in the school system but in government here as well I don't care what party they are.
Then add teachers extraordinary pay and benifits because they are unionized and nobody can touch em ......
I thought maybe you had had time to visit America. Not all are like the over priced ones in the richer areas of america. Many are not paid enough to really teach. Come on down with us commoners and take a look.

I come accross many people now that just recently dropped their health insurance because they had to ...and guess what's gonna happen Ttom ? Yup- because no one will fix ( regulate ) the healhcare system -we're gonna pay for them.
One tahoe school has closed , and the others being rebuilt with a new assessment that teachers lobbied for years to get through ( millions more out of our pockets )
Did they ( teachers and administration ) chip-in and cut back ........Hell No ! Business as usual for state paid employees .....or any local state or fed people

I suggest people are dropping thier health care because they cannot afford it. And because they hoping to hold out for Obama care in 4 years.
So you want gov't regulating gov't? Pretty sure they do that already. State education board regulates the school districts here.
Consolidation does not always mean a closed hospital, John. Consolidation can mean better run hospitals with smaller staffs.

But should a hospital that is failing with bad management and inability to collect accounts be kept around? Let it fail. Perhaps Declaring bankruptcy is the best way to go.
WE both know that during the Obamacare debate....stories were cherry picked....to paint the medical system as failing. The same time in Orlando they build 4 new hospital and a teaching university.
The Lake Tahoe Unified School District is still in operation. They have 8 schools open. They might have closed one school.....but they have other schools open to transfer students to.
But this is exactly what I meant.....during Obamacare debate....DEM cherry picked closing of a hospital or several to be s sestmic failure of the systems. It was a bent system....but still functioning.

With his view why not adopt Mexico. If it is good for one illegal alien we might as well take care of them all. That is how theory works. If it can work on a small scale should be even better on a larger scale.

OMG, at least you admit there is a problem.. Sense of logic is there somewhere. So how do you propose we fix the system. Our government is greedy, top heavy, does not know how to spend our money wisely. Most in Congress have no business experience.And California is going broke.. and you don't see this as a big problem. Math: 1 is just 1, 10,000 is just a number. How many immigrants are in California alone, how many use the school system.
How much does that take out of the tight budgets our school system have to run on the way it is.
And this is just one facet of ruining the infrastructure.
So if you see it is just a small problem, open your other eye also and get a full view of the situation.

Most people do not have a problem with immigrants entering the country.
The problem is LEGAL versus ILLEGAL. And the strains and costs on the infrastructure.. Justice system/Prisons, education, Hospitals, drugs/crime. All added costs.

The Honorable John "war hero" Kerry owes Mass. over 1/2 million dollars in taxes. Just imagine, if that were money were given to the homeless. It could feed thousands.

Sheriff Joe doesn't care. He is arresting the illegals anyway.

There are 18 more states considering doing the same law.
Feds won't do their job. States will figure out away around the Feds. The law is the law. We actually don't need more laws. Just enforce the ones already on the books.
And I disagree. When it goes to the Supreme Court. They will side with Arizona. The Obama administration will not be able to put pressure on the Supreme Court to side with their view.
It will have to side with the legalities of the law, and how it is written. They will decide with Arizona.

I think a lot of people misunderstand the real issue!
I, for one...am not against Immigration, it is the Illegal Immigration that is against the law, and should be addressed.
If you have nothing to hide, why not present legal papers to show you are legally here.
Chances are that your not going to be asked for proper ID, if your not doing something wrong.
I had a friend suggested that I go to Az, and see if I don't get stopped because of the way I look. (because of my dark hair and etc)
I have no problem with that at all. If I do something to get questioned, i.e. running traffic light, stop sign, speeding, reckless...or any other law, I would welcome my ID to be checked...because the officer is going to ask for it anyway...no problem.
If I'm not breaking the law...I still have nothing to hide.
It's my opinion that it's the illegals that are kicking up such a fuss, not because of violation of their rights...but because they are scared of getting caught being here illegally!
The new AZ proposed law, has got the illegals running scared...which we all know that within that group of people is the infestation of drug runners, dealers, and criminals.
If the illegals want to be here, at least apply for citizenship, the legal way...then they have no reason to be afraid.
It's just like anything else, if you think it's worth so much to be an American, then do it the legal way...really, it's very simple solution.

Its time for the American Gov. to re-work legislation and create a realistic guest worker/immigration policy. There are many ex-pats that live in Mexico. As well as many immigrants/ seasonal workers in Canada. Neither counrty seems to be having the problems America is having, yet they both face the same issue...Bad laws make outlaws of good people.
