I wouldnt even notice lol.....and really wouldnt care to be honest....for me the forums are just a bit of fun and a way of passing some time when Im bored and should not be taken too seriously.Nice new set up on C.S.....but those damned scammers are still coming through thick and fast.....I've had more message me in the last 2wks than I have in the last 6mths, they are like ants!

EssJay have you looked at your mail settings. First of all only set it for the age-group you want and the countries you want mail from and any other settings. That will whittle a lot of the mail down.

Yes, filters are in place,they are coming from all over the U.K.recently, London,Kent,Bristol etc. I block each one after I've sent them another scammers email address.

It also crossed my mind that it would be the 24/7 brigade that were the most affected by the shenanigans

I just get the scammers from the USA. The sending scammers other scammers addresses is a good idea. I tried that in the past but got fed up wasting my time - as if I care that they profess undying love and devotion to another man! I just ask them what they found so wonderful about my profile photo and profile, and once I have seen they have read that I block them. I never got all these scam mails when I was on POF.

Forums can be addictive and it can be easy for someone who is stuck at home with nothing to do and without any inclination to do anything to become addicted to forums. There again you also have people who are tragically housebound and the internet forums are their only contact with the outside world. Years ago when I first got a computer - about 10 years ago or so - I was pretty much addicted to forums but as it was affecting my life - yes really - I was neglecting what I shouldn't neglect - I managed to wean myself off. Like Crystal (I think it was Crystal) said, for her and also for me the internet forums are just a way to while away the time.

It seems that people take forums too seriously. They are words on a screen, usually posted by people that you're likely to only ever meet 3% of.
