Wow_FactorLondon, Greater London, England UK45 Threads 3,698 PostsLol, I was so engrossed in reading about Vicks that I forgot I was only supposed to be on the computer for 3 minutes while the frankfurters were simmering for a pasta salad. You can guess what happened. I smelt burning from the kitchen, opened the kitchen door and it was like dense fog. The pan had boiled dry. So much smoke so had to open the window and put the extractor fan on. I will need another pan now as I only have one pan left and it is not a non-stick one!

Grrrr my flat still smells awful even with the windows open overnight and at the moment. The smoke's smell seems to have got into the furnishings. Thank goodness I remembered about the pan, albeit too late for my last non-stick pan not to mention the packet of Tival frankfurters but I have another six packets in the freezer. I use the cocktail ones, simmered for 3 minutes (not half an hour!), cut them in half and mixed them with cold cooked pasta shells and stuffed green olives with a dash of garlic mayonnaise. Yummy!

You and everyone else. I just completely forgot about the pan because I was reading articles on the net how Vicks rubbed on the soles of the feet helps coughs and congestion. How's your cold by the way?

That video reminds me of way back in 1998 when someone had the very misguided idea that I'd want to go and see Lighthouse Family at Hull Ice arena. So, there I was stuck with two tickets which were only worth 25 quid so I advertised them for sale and a bloke contacts me saying he'd give me 100 quid for them as he had just returned from oil rigs and wanted to take his girlfriend to see them for a treat. So, I met him and he handed me the money for tickets. I know, it was real good as I was totally skint at that time living on benefits 
Eos11: I'm not keen on the evenings drawing in .. doesn't seem long since it was still light at 10pm ... now I'm having to close my curtains about 9.
I don't have that problem as I never open my curtains anyway However, I've had to put my bike lamps on in the mornings now 'cos it's darkish when I'm riding to work at 5.15am

You could be right about the names similarity ... especially as some time had passed .. still the gift did you a good turn and you was lucky in finding someone who wanted to pay so much

Good that it's better. We don't expect to get colds in the summer do we? Perhaps it is because the weather is so changeable lately.
Just soooo ticked off today, had to book a Refresher Course for my 1st Aid Cert. for my work, Sat 8-12. 
The only, I mean ooooooooooooooooonly Sat. in absoloutely ages that my daughter started her part time job at 12 midday was today
I didn't have to take her to work and I couldn't have a lie in.
Oh well, if that's the worst that happens to me today then life's not too bad??

I worked so late last night to make up for the work I would have done today as I wanted Saturday off for a change, but because I was so shattered after I fed the cats at 6 I went back to sleep and didn't wake till 2.30 and I feel groggy, so early night tonight and out tomorrow. I have some vouchers burning a hole in my handbag!
