Do you still remember what you did on 11 September 2011? I was having a coffee with friends, we watched the news and thought the tragedy was part of a movie ... unfortunately it was real!

Minding my 7 month old Grandaughter and like yourself thought I was watching a disaster movie until I saw the live box on B.B.C. lit up.

chocolateflavour: Oups sorry on 11 September 2001 ... correction
I remember it like yesterday. I was chatting to someone on MSN and we each had the tv on in our respective homes. We couldn't believe our eyes. At the school gates later at the end of school-time all the parents were in shocked and stunned silence rather than the chatter that normally took place.

I was quite ill at the time and sat up late into the night watching tv. I watched the second plane hit the twin towers and knew instantly that the whole world would be changing. I called my family in the uk and told them what was happening. I woke my daughter and her boyfriend and we all sat in my bed watching as the horror unfolded. It was the most horrific scene watching the burning buildings and then the collapse of the iconic tower buildings. I was glued to the tv set for days hoping like everyone else that more people would be rescued but as we all know now there was little hope for those trapped. I still think of all those innocent people, the office workers and the fire, police and rescue workers who died that day and all the families coping without the ones they loved. Life changed for all of us that day.

I was sitting outside my estate agents waiting for my keys to view my new home. I heard that a light aircraft hit the twin towers. It was only when I got home to watch sky news I realised the horror that had actually happened....
RIP to all who perished, to those whos families who still live with the pain of that day.
I was up early and having my coffee while watching the news when I saw the whole thing unfold. At first my brain just couldn't register the truth of what I was watching happen. It seemed unreal like I was watching a spy/adventure movie not the news...but it was all too real.
I watched in horror all day mourning the poor people trapped in that nightmare burning, falling, dying. The other hijacked aircraft plunging to the earth and the people trying to find out what happened to their loved ones broke my heart. It changed me.

I was making my bed...TV was on....Started calling my family and making plans to meet and be together...We didn't know what would happen, we just didn't know!...It was beyond anything we had ever experienced and it made a believer out of us.... Terrorists must be stopped...
Did you know that September 11th is Patriot Day here in the United States?....

I still remember that STUPID look on Bush's face as he was told what happened in the kid's classroom. The event served to falsely glorify him as our protector .....

NO DOUBT - Bush's arrogance helped fuel terrorist hatred towards the USA through out the world

bodleing: Yes I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard about it.
Also it was particularly shocking for myself compared to those around me as I had just returned from New York. In fact just a few days earlier I was on the Staten Island ferry taking pics of the twin towers.
