Falling in love before you meet the person.

as i am banned from the main post, and my comments create some reactions, I am going to explain it.

The questions here is “Can you fall in love befor you meet the person?”

Of course NOT;

Yes, it is true we can be in love with a person online, by correspondence, in person, whatever, but you have to “meet the person”, either by exchange emails, letters, words. - and it has to be real.

If I would accept the post, I would say and agree that it would be just normal for a fan to be in love with an actor, a musician ,a sport player, or anyone in the world, just because he read listen, read, watch, or imagine. I don’t consider that love. I consider “brain failure”- as there are some real emotional issues.

To fall in love HAVE u meet the person: - any form, and it has to be real.

Bogart tip hat
I have not posted on that thread, purely because having never been in love,i cant comprehend "love".
However, neither you,me or anyone can catorgorically state that falling in love without meeting someone is not possible. On meeting them, the love itself may even deepen.
Fair enough, you dont think so,and you wouldnt fall in love with someone online, but that doesnt mean those that who believe that after many months talking away for hours daily, laughing and joking ect,are wrong.
It is just a matter of opinions.
Its always a good thing to respect someone elses opinion.cheers

Rebel,tip hat Thanks.

I agree with most of you comment, but I disagree with you in in one comment "can categorically state that"!.

Yes, I can, if I "categorically believe that". That´s is the true for ME, and NOT for anyone else.

as I said "That is what I have in my book!!. But I do respect whatever you have in your book, even if I will not quote it!"

cheers

I think people have different ideas what "love" means.

For some it's a commodity, superficial etc, for other's it's not.

It does astonish me how easy people use the word "love" or friendship. dunno Talking about me, I'm selective, I have a lot of acquintences, but I don't call everyone a friend. Friends and my family are important and I love them, I'm also not talking about "love" straight away when I meet someone - I think that includes knowing someone well and that takes time - for me.

Falling in love, infatuation or falling in lust is something different imo. wine

No, Bogart.

What about Platonic love???

Some people think that they can fall in love before meeting and that is fine.

Some others think they have to meet before falling in love and that is fine too.

What is wrong is to try people to fit all in just one side.

lifeisadream: I can see that too Bogart.

People that like to be approved by someone else.
People that like to hear what they want and they get it from their “friends”.

However, your using the term brain failure might not be the right one under this situation.

Brain failure:
broad group of severe mental and behavioral disorders etiologically traceable to brain disease, injury, or toxicosis; psychosis associated with endocrine disorders, drugs, and metabolic or nutritional abnormalities.

I think that things need to be considered on a case-by-case basis. One cannot blanket everything the same....

Aside from arbitrary and subjective definitions of love, I find when one wants to bring it all back to basics it comes down to how much pain, how much suffering and trials, how much money and how much of oneself one would give to someone else purely in the name of love of that person whether it's online or whatever.

my post from the 'other' thread.

Yes of course...all relationships begin in projection, or perhaps you could call it an idea. Such and 'idea' like this is a complex. Simply said an idea with a lot of energy that knocks about autonomously in our psychic cellar.
Some will project love, in the search of the 'Magical Other' onto anyone who fits their idea of salvation, or will spare us the perilous journey of individuation.
The power of a complex cannot be overemphasized.

may I add another thought to this thread on love or the idea of "pre-love" online.

I have found that there are people I have met in person that became instant friends - kindred spirits. and there are people I have communicated on line with and discovered a compatibility that when we met in person, in real life we were friends - of course this has always been about the woman I have met and become friends with this has not happened in finding a male love interest.

However I think the online way to communicate with people can weed out unsuitable sorts and can help open lines of communication with those you feel an interest in - then of course you must meet if there are any feelings to develop.

So here a toast to "prelove" wine
