Banned from a poll thread ( Archived) (123)

Aug 24, 2013 11:21 AM CST Banned from a poll thread
It seems to me that just because I voiced an opinion counter to what the poll creator holds that I was banned from his poll in spite of the fact that I hadn't even said word one to him. All I did was respond to another person who posted to the thread. Subsequently, I am unable to answer any comments directed toward me including addressing certain posters who felt it was necessary to mock on my screen name. So now people can attack me and I can't even defend myself. Is this the American way?
If a person is so insecure as to ban someone for holding an opposite opinion from him, that person is truly a coward.

To be serious for a change
I saw quite a few times when the Opening Poster abuses the moderation options , bans people or hide their post for no real reason..It gave me the impression that some of the members have "the God syndrome"
Maybe the Mods should step in and word their opinion or react

Actually, the banning feature is a good thing because it helps us to separate the wheat from the chaff. Do we really want to banter with people who have closed minds? hug

I did not know that we can ban someone thought it was only the mods that could do that...or did I misunderstand the thread?

Kiddy no you missed nothing. The mods can ban someone from the site and gave the members who start threads on here the option of banning or hiding posts by other members if they choose to.

I guess the mods became a little burnt out from all the petty bickering that they gave some moderating powers to the membership.

I've been banned from a thread or two myself but I haven't chosen to start threads about it.It's obvious that there's tons of threads on this here site and the blogs, games what have you.laugh

I have a habit of clicking on things I have no intention of clicking on, religion centred dating sites included.

I'm always a bit paranoid I'll ban someone by accident and I'd like to think that if I did, that person would drop me a line to let me know if it appeared I'd done it randomly.

Really, on the very rare occasion it might be prudent to ban someone, it would be reasonable to make a statement that you have and why you have.

no loss there. the OP clearly can't handle an opinion other than his own...i must have been mistaken in thinking that freedom of speech was still in force...oh well!

This is what I did earlier as I banned ooby and several others from the poll about my wondering if anyone else thought obama would identify with the recent victims which I posted pictures and links to elucidate on the purpose of my Poll.
