I never needed anyone's help until now. I feel so uncomfortable with this whole new world. For some reason the help makes me feel like I have failed in some way. Does anyone else feel like this? Don't get me wrong I cant even express my gratitude for what practical strangers have done to help me make my house a home. I just can't get past the I didn't do it and I cant repay them or can I? With what?

A gift like that, is a an act of kindness.

It's not meant to be a burden.

It's ok to just be grateful for the kindness.

thumbs up I agree but I think she's feeling less independent. She might be the type of person that wants to say she did it all by herself. Sometimes it's hard for people to accept help of any kind. I understand how she feels. When she gets settled she will get her independence back.

I remember you.. wave

I have a hard time especially when I feel I can't return such favor in kind somehow. You could express gratitude with a card to thank them for helping and invite them over for coffee or something.. smile

Just remember to give back in little way, to sway a disappointment,to not look back when you give is ok.
Strangers will know.
You have been blessed. spread the acknowledgement, and you have done that.

hug Live well my friend.

I can relate but the time will come when you can pay the kindness forward to someone else who needs it. You haven't "failed", just be grateful for those who were there for you

There is always a time in your life when you need a helping hand and if you have the chance to receive it be open to it.
Then pass it on to someone else, it is very gratifying to help somebody in need.
Don't feel less of not accomplishing something we only can do our best and that is enough.
Being grateful is a response you only can express your own way...wave
