epirb: yeah , and you can expect a victory speech from Trump , magnanimous in nature showing Crux the door , don't trip over the mat on the way out Cruxy .
I think trumps gonna lose it to Clinton. I don't like the way the man makes fun of handicapped person.
purr4mance: the conservative party as we know it is most certainly history,
at least for the next 4 years and maybe longer.
it looks like it will be the populist demagogue trump against the democratic front runner clinton.
ronald reagan is surely rolling over in his grave tonight.
god help us all !!!
au contraire Purr , its invigorated , energised and has got GOP voters out , some have not been involved for years , one interviewed said he had not voted since Reagan . He's either going to be the best President ever or the worst , there won't be any middle ground . Ha , so much for the TPPA .

lindsyjones: Yep Obs, it might just be a very colorful showdown if they become like ready to be playing..
We'll keep one step ahead. What we can't do is keep 20th century technology forever out of the hands of the developing world. And what we could do is build a 21st century update to Reagan's Star Wars program which probably won't look like what was previously imagined.
We need to very much be in the 21st century. And that's a thing which bothers me about Trump. If nothing else he's too old. America could become a seniletocracy and stagnate like the Soviet Union Brezhnev.

The desired effect is to make you believe he's a man who makes things happen. And maybe he would be in another era. If you were planning on invading a lot of people, and if wars were won by masses on the battlefield, then you'd have a Trump.
But I'm doubtful that Trump's way of motivating people can motivate intelligence and I believe he's much better at motivating someone to take a bullet for their country as the best and brightest flee that country.

To be honest I believe Trump's support would erode during the first wave of wage cuts caused by decoupling(to whatever extent)from the global system. The restraint and capacity to endure isn't there. Price increases, wage cuts, restrictions of choice, greater management of education... swathes of the nations would have to be reconfigured and many of the cheap goods and creature comforts would have to be sacrificed.
And I find it fantastic to assume that Trump won't more or less keep to the status quo in practice. There's an irresistible comfort to crony consumerism and I doubt people have it in them to stomach anything else. Especially in America. Self-restraint and the capacity to endure are perhaps the last things I think of when I think about America.
epirb: Trump knows where all the skeletons are . Mrs B Clinton going to get hers rattled soon enough . Trump keeps his eye on the ball , never going after a target until the one in front is done a dusted .

Obs, I am sure even as he is pictured as the hero of the dumb and poor (one poster did that thread on here), it is preposterous to think that his supporters are all that. Janine Pirro and many more very intelligent and well noted people are also behind him.
He can direct this country with a united effort, if only the rest of the fascist democrats led people are not in a bubble.

His natural supporters are the dumb and poor which doesn't mean they're wrong about everything nor does it mean that everyone who supports Trump is dumb and/or poor.
Nevertheless a brain drain is a concern. Remember that Trumps own industries are ones of low-skill, low-education and low-intelligence and it's no accident that Trump zones in on the least amongst us. The point is that there needs to be a carrot and some kind of representation for the lion's share of the clever people.

See what is the problem Obs. Exactly the clever people. No wonder they have become the pundits because he has punctured their nest of just that being cleverly using and manipulating us.
I am sure he will definitely use all the good people and I wont be surprised if he will post Cruz as his Supreme court judge.
His speech for him last night left with a positive note for Cruz.

Dangerous road to go down when clever people and the enemy are viewed as one and the same. Pol Pot lives on.
