OgGoDeo: ...Hi Al..I hope you don't mind me giving a small opinion.....Well...my personal opinion is that....especially when somebody is a nice ordinary, down to earth person, probably more used to meeting people in real life every day....it is aa little different if people meet in this virtual world....it actually gets more difficult to say your true feelings than it would in real life.....a lot easier behind our laptops!.....buy, in the end.....a lot easier for one or the other to get hurt....nobody wants that but it can happen if somebody takes virtual too seriously.......at the end of the day it can happen that the person who is actually the nicest can end up being the biggest devil....
I am currently in a virtual relationship which so far seems to be progressing well, and I am indeed taking it very seriously. If it doesn't work I will be devastated, but will be able to hold my head high knowing I gave it my best shot. I believe we are meant for each other but only time will tell.devil

Anybody who uses extreme emotional blackmail to get what they want is a coward and a manipulator.

I would tell them to go jump in the nearest lake, and offer to give them a push if their natural cowardice prevented them from doing it themselves.

allthegoodnamest: I remember a while back a young lady took an overdose due of an argument that led us to a breakup.. Me , being the sensitive type , decided to rekindle the relationship purely out of guilt, only for her to terminate the relationship a few months later... I think she realised my heart wasn't in it..
My question is, have ever been emotionally blackmailed into staying in a relationship?

in this story as you have told it here, you were not emotionally black mailed: ".. Me , being the sensitive type , decided to rekindle " it was your choice. so as you have described it here, this would not fit the definiation.

I'm not in a position to judge, as I've never had any experience in online dating..
But I'm a pretty good judge of character & Can spot a good one when I see it.

That's good advice... Sometimes I think the travelling takes more out of me than work itself, especially during the summer months..
Ok I get your drift.. This episode happened many years ago and if experience has taught me anything, it's to look after no.1 & not let my sensitive organs overall my head.laugh bouquet

So maybe it was not so much your decision because it was something you wanted to do, but you felt you HAD to. Yes that can be manipulative, I agree.cheers

funny true story with my ex:

we had a few brake ups before splitting definitely. when talking after each brake up, she had our dog with her and pointed out how much the dog loved me. she actually used the dog again and again !!!!

can it get any cheaper?

i presume if we had kids she would use the kids.

You both share love for dog and you could of arrange to take turns in spending time with dog in your own home;just as separated couples do with children...
Come on;you didn't go back with your ex - and to bed too -just because you so badly wanted to spend time with dog.rolling on the floor laughing
