Oops, hit the post button before I was done.

It's a simple matter of choice after having experienced it. If you go on a rollercoaster and don't enjoy it, why would you do it again?

I believe and even keen myself to surrender to such an opportunity at a more mature age, as it will be only you and him then, both settled in life, no hassle, no pressure...

I said I wouldn't in a previous post, but that has nothing to do with my failed marriage, I just don't see the point of it , if your not planning of having children.. dunno

Probably a lot less than women.laugh

To be honest, I loved being married & all the responsibilities that go with it.. I was just unfortunate in my choice & I'm sure she would say the same.

I think it is probably a Benjamin Button scenario

The age people usually get married at, usually because of kids/society, is an age that they are still transitioning and changing.

If they transition and change in a different direction to their partner, then the chances of survival are low.

Once people have matured, they are more likely to choose a partner who is on the same road as themselves, so marriage would have a better chance of success.

I'll have to disagree .
Years ago , people got married a lot younger & the divorce rate was considerably lower.
It's attitudes that have changed , not the immaturity .

I think maybe the divorce rate was lower because attitudes HAVE changed...

People discovered that they didn't need to be in a miserable existence and could do something about it.
