One2note: I'll have to disagree .
Years ago , people got married a lot younger & the divorce rate was considerably lower.
It's attitudes that have changed , not the immaturity .

Maybe.
But we are living in the here and now.

It seems that a lot of the blame is aimed towards the change in women's attitudes but in reality, it's the men who have changed, not owning up to their responsibilities of married life & all the pressures that go with it.

serene56: I think maybe the divorce rate was lower because attitudes HAVE changed...

People discovered that they didn't need to be in a miserable existence and could do something about it.

That's all the more reason why we should choose a partner that compliments us & not the other antics that people find so appealing nowadays.

But if you had a solid relationship with someone you loved and they asked the question, what would your answer be

My answer is , no to getting married, been there done that, and have nice memories,
and 3 beautiful adult offspring

Wouldn't be against a long term relationship, where we both have our own time and space
Spending nice times together,enjoying life.smitten

New here and no pic yet , working on it.
Tbh though, l don't think many answer the question honestly .

But l would've said no way a few yrs ago after divorce but now not so sure.
have been with someone 12mths , it wasn't just anyone or a so so or a fill in , yeah it hasn't worked out but there were very big outside reasons we couldn't change.
But we were both amazed at the power of our new feelings and thoughts and yeah , suddenly we'd both known from day one we would marry each other if we could.
Never would've thought that would ever happen again and l doubt l'll be lucky enough to feel like that again now , twice in one life is twice more than most people genuinely get l think.
But it did make us both realize that hell yessa , if we were lucky enough to meet the real deal , we would def' marry again.

Weird , it was a bigger surprise to me as anyone else.
