I've dived deeply into Mahayana Buddhist thought, it's my understanding mind is pure, like white light.
Our minds nature otherwise is dualistic, by that i mean what we perceive as reality may not be...
Our true nature is energy, if we try to find self it cannot be found, in other way to attempt to express that.
Meditating and invoking single pointed concentration you'll likely find every single aspect of our being is wholly impermanent all parts of this "I" exists at best in interdependence upon other, cells are all constantly dying, we are shedding our skin and hair to, not a single aspect of this body we call "I" actually can be found to exist in any thing other than in interdependence. Everything on this planet even whole universe only exists in interdependence upon other...
I found our nature is actually moving energy (spirit or sole if you must but I think spirit or sole are both to obscurer, to express what i'm trying to convey; moving energy, subtle-winds that carry the seeds of our tomorrows.
Moving energy that has been migrating since beginningless time (is unfathomable) beginningless moving energy without end. Nothing can become a nothing, change but nothing becomes a nothing, that's an impossibility. moving energy without beginning or end.
