If ugly - u cannot become attractive, except thru plastic surgery, and then there is the bone structure problem, which can also be fixed thru plastic surgery - I hope they're very rich then, to pay for all of it to look good for others squeamishness
It is always preferable to the person involved not to be carrying extra weight. However, as already stated, some people gain weight when on medication including steroids. Others have hormone imbalances or Insomnia etc. etc. The low fat diet has caused untold damage and too much processes food is being eaten. Diet does work in a lot of cases but not all.
KremaP: But yes, excessive weight is unhealthy and unattractive...and speaks volumes about the person's character...
Why would it necessarily be seen as a negative of their character. If a woman who gains weight excessively through a much wanted pregnancy and is bed boundfor alot of it and gains weight. Is that necessarily a negative? Someone who is n medication for either a health condition or a mental condition...and one of those side affects is weight gain. Is that a negative towards their personality.
Someone who has thyroid function difficiency undetected for years ..as like a friend of mine. She was trying for years to lose it ...some tests showed up her thyroid was fine...until she changed doctors and got a proper diagnosis. Is that a negative sign of her character?
Likewise...someone who has gone through chemotherapy and lost so much weight tha they look emaciated. Is that also a bad sign of their character.?
Not a personal attack Kremap as you have mentioned it before but maybe you should be careful of your words...thats if your intent is not to upset people...which im very sure it is

I didn't not include the medical cases, pregnancies and such in my post as I believe every normal person would make a difference to the obesity caused by overeating ... I deal with people who are or have been through those illnesses every day at work Dee, I know what I am talking about...
KremaP: I only pointed out to what she said... I am very much aware of the differences in every obesity case, medical or overindulging with food... You may be surprised how many choose the easy way...no diet or exercise... Even most common causes for women's excessive weight such as hormonal disbalance is easily tackled with natural remedies...
I doubt i would be surprised by much these days Kremap But yes i find it an annoyance on the part of the legit cases where surgery is needed, when the health system is clogged up with procedures for those who take the easy route. I would hope its in the minority in the overall scheme of things though...if so our own GPs are not doing their jobs quite well enough to refer them in the first place.

"Every normal person". I.e im not normal? Ill take that as a compliment, Kremap Well you can see how easy it is to read into things when a post isnt crystal clear...or when the poster means one thing but can be ambigious to the reader.

Thyroid problems are the most common cause of total hormonal disbalance as once the thyroid stops functioning properly it disturbs the other hormones in no time... Many lose weight but some gain, and it can be sorted without medications...

You would be surprised at how many people go years either undetected or undiagnosed. Ive heard of it happening to a few.
I personally dislike medications myself but to someit maybe necessary...for all sorts of reasons.

I have noticed quite the opposite the last few years...people getting more aware of how their bodies can speak about a problem and they can start dealing with in a early stage... But unfortunately the age has been going down for some serious problems which are very often dismissed because they are not expected to occur at that early stage of life...
Our looks is a composite of genetics and life style. While you can't do anything to alter the first, you can always adjust your life style in a way that'd eventually lead to the weight you want to have. But to change life style, you'd need to change the way you think, in other words: your personality. Wouldn't happen without lots of determination and motivation.
I myself like being physically active whereever possible, as well as being aware of how much and what quality of calories I consume. I also prefer fit people.
