stephenbadger: l'm shocked & flabbergasted, that someone else in this plethora of geniuses, knows this BIG laptop is a real gem ...shut the lid when not in use to keep the dust off the keyboard & flies/crap off the screen

HP OMEN 17.3" ...choices are 12, 16 or 32gb Ram ...FHD or 4K Screen ...1 or 2 Tb Hard-drive, etc ....l use an old HP Envy 17.3" 16gb Ram, FHD, 2 Tb Hard-drive & it is very efficient, no problems with graphics or games.

My experience is that a 16gb Ram & nvidia Geforce graphics or similar are absolutely essential to keep everything working smoothly

Good machine, but ruined by using MS Windows, wiped and reloaded with Linux and now you have a decent piece of Kit, especially if you have some Unix knowledge.

I thought the notebooks were discontinued when traditional hard-drive storage capacity exceeded 10 Megabytes? laugh

.....and of course, l love the fast intel i7 CPU processor ...the beefy graphics card stops pixelation/picture disassembling or overheating/freezing.

Very grateful for all comments, especially to Rizlared's. I did visit the link and started to study the subject, while my entire nature screaming against it :(

I just hate all this technological terminology. But, as I understand it now, my request was rather naive: I cannot choose anything on my own if I don't understand what's it about. As simple as that :(

I bought a new mobile phone this summer and I did study the subject in advance (while hating it). My demands for a mobile phone are rather few and simple: I want be able to make phone calls and type a text, everything else is a bonus. Now I own a Motorola. Everyone I asked about it, both on line and in the real life, were in love with it. Me? It sucks and I hate it. Yes, the battery time is like "forever" and that's that. I can't switch between different alphabets while typing a text and it's not possible to turn off auto spelling check. Looks like there are things that are important only for me.

My point is: even if I study this terminology from here and to the sunset, I still might find myself with something that's very good for someone else, not me.

Jeeze, how I miss the old Nokia....
