I've had this discussion with a friend, we were discussing an acquaintance we know who always has the appearance of full blown happiness....never a negative word to speak about anyone...always a smile on her face.
Always a funny yarn to tell....bas I call you skips not walks everywhere.

As much as I do admire her outlook and positivity.
Is it really sustainable this notion of putting your best face forward.
At times we have to suck it up and act it.

But people who always find the silver lining to me are somewhat an enigma.

Am I the only one who think this.

Let fly!!

Why do you want to drag this lady down to your level? She deserves happiness doesn´t she?

I know a few people who fake their semingly 24/7 happiness. I don’t know what it’s about but they are covering something imho.

I'm discussing the psychology of it all rather than anything.
I don't wish to see her unhappy at all.
I'm just having a discussion about a topic and I'm using an example.
I hope she is happy...I'm not hating on her just needed an analogy for my thread.

I think everybody has one main emotion, be that grumpy, happy, angry, whatever.

It is difficult, and shouldn't happen, that you don't feel the other emotions at appropriate times. For example sad when somebody you love dies.

But if you are content in your life, why not appear and act content?

It's great if in their world they have no complaints.
But sometimes constant "oh the world is so wonderful" can be as grating as a misery guts.
Not a popular opinion I might add but it's a real one.

For me it's easier spot true contentment than the ones who are wuhoo-ing around the place like the world is one big mardi gra.

Trust me I'm not a happy hater....just the ones who clearly don't feel their feelings because it's very obvious something is being covered up

Conversely, if somebody you know were always grumpy or cranky, would you think they are covering up a secret happiness?

Also conversely, does that mean people who always act really weirdly are simply covering up being sensible?

I am getting confused now

I am not sure if I am grumpy and weird, or happy and sensible

Or maybe I'm grumpy and sensible
