So

What is really going on? Who is really behind this?

Is it minority groups or are liberals just trying to further damage the family more?

And why should parentsor anyone else listen to what the Girl Scouts have to say?

Does anyone really care?

Thanks, I'll be sure to remind the Girl Scouts about this, the next time they try to sell me some cookies.

The world's awash with fruitcakes ...

In fact, nowadays there are so many fruitcakes in the world that ... well, I'm thinking maybe we could do a lotta good ... perhaps we could end hunger in the world by feeding fruitcake to the hungry ?

cheers

American conservatives are armed to the teeth, but American liberals have to find a different way of being a paranoid freak. It's best to look for the root reason why Americans are so defensive.

I agree with you, Sophia

Hugging is lovely if you want to hug.

Kissing is lovely if you want to kiss

Not all kids, or adults, are comfortable being hugged or kissed by others, and they shouldn't be forced to.

i don't see what the big deal is. It is not some big conspiracy.

Hugging is a significant part of life. And Yeah, I agree also that no one should be forced to hug another person. I was certainly never forced to hug anyone and I don’t remember seeing anyone else ever forced to hug someone else.

And Most people run from me anyways because I am so ugly, so I’m hugless. No group hugs here.

I’ve always seen hugging as.... “To connect to others: When you hug someone it releases oxytocin, also known as 'the cuddle hormone.' That's what makes you feel warm inside. Psychologists also say that oxytocin promotes feelings of devotion, trust and bonding. This allows us to connect to other people.” (AOL dot com)

I have often seen children been forced to endure being hugged or kissed by family friends or relatives.

You can see them freezing up and wanting to be anywhere but there.

I agree that hugging is a good way of connecting with people, but it has to be voluntary hugging.

As a small child I never walked up to anyone and just gave them a hug.As an adult I don't either.

I never forced my son to hug anyone either.

There is a lot of discussion pro and con on the Girl Scout for their announcement website pointing out .... “Making her give hugs now can make her wonder if she “owes” another person physical affection when they’ve bought her dinner or done something else seemingly nice for her later in life.

Yeah, I have watched it.

And I think they shouldn't only be talking about girls, but boys too.

The massive move now is to allow our/the children a way of life to learn to be themselves not have any sinking feeling of being in a situation they do not want.
We must allow them to know they are protected. By you or both of you.

Never forget, as adults of our children, the world of seriously bad people prey in every corner.
You must care for the children

Give them the great times of having fun and love, always be their sentinel.

You hug them.
They hug you back
That is a gift that is taught for you.24/7.

God Bless

aries1234: yes but what if they want a hug.

Obviously if both want to hug, then of course they hug

This is about consent, and autonomy, and nobody being forced to do something they are not comfortable with

mollybaby: So what are you saying?

Well if you throw out anything I said in my orevious post about how the Greeks raised children, I said ....

Yeah, let’s forget the belief that families have a responsibility to raise their children the way they think best and in my humble opinion the Girl Scouts organization is saying two things 1.) parents don’t know what they are doing and shouldn’t be involved with child raising; instead they believe the state knows better and 2.) since boys aren’t mention, it makes girls sound dumb in several ways.

And Teaching children love and how to show compassion is important .... and In my opinion parents have the duty and obligation to raise their children.... not the state or some liberal organization.
