Not a problem galrads. I'll add a little more summary while I'm here.
The Jewish nation has claimed Jerusalem it's capitol since about 1004 BCE by religious standards. It is recognized historically, it seems, as their only capitol since. They are recognized as the first religion and people, to be there.
The first muslims didn't arrive until sometime around 600 and something A.D. It was under hostile intentions and was just handed over to the invaders.
Excuse the time lapses but to lightly fill in some blanks, the first crusade took place in/around the 1100's(also forced). I think many are familiar with a lot from there on.
The fall of the ottoman empire gave opportunity for Britain to take over the palistinian state and France was given a portion to control. I think that was somewhere in 1917 until the mandates were relinquished and the state of Israel came to be in 1948. It's been an up hill battle for Israel ever since.
There have been other offers and negotiations but I've been heavily side tracked watching my own country up heave noticeably since about 2011. To think that many support obozo but he wouldn't even ensure that Iran recognize Israel and their rights in that "deal".
Around 2014 Israel offered palistine control over portions and areas, including certain religious areas, but not the heavily populated Jewish areas of Jerusalem. Israel wouldn't give sovereignty. The deal was still a no-go.
There was a time when I could give great detail on many things but I've kind of all but given up on that over the years and hope people read more with the summarized versions. There is always more information as there are always more than two sides to most events. I'm not certain I have it in me for that type of depth any more.

I think the UN is biting the horse that feeds it and wrongly harms both the States of Israel and Palestine.

An additional question here is.... I’ve doubted the USA would move its embassy to Jerusalem but if the USA does move it, what will the UN do?

And as for those countries that feed of the backs of tax payers in the US their funding should stop along with the funding of UN agency's . The truth is that a larger majority have no idea what's been happening with the U.N., certain worthless leaders, and how long the 2-state system has been under "talks" with break downs. Most likely, only what television tells them.
Another veto proof bill even as obozo was undermining Israel with talks of the 1967 lines even before election night of 2012; H.R. 4133. It was to guarantee joint co-operation for security as well as support for Israel.
If any thing, it's more that a large population of the people in the U.S. only know what television tells them about any conflicts, U.N. prejudices.
Trump stated that it wasn't to do away with the 2-state system or stop negotiations. I suspect the continued anti-Israel sentiment that the U.N. doesn't buck against as it should have; has more to do with the uproar.
I can't seem to find much, where the U.S. population majority is against his decision except maybe for some of the portion mentioned above. Even if I did, they are the same sources either way they lean, that tried predicting and even telling people, what the last presidential election results would be by a landslide.
