It strikes me as obvious to elect somebody now who does not illicit that divisive response. Everyone who is an obsessive freak under Trump becomes a hater, and every hater under Trump becomes an obsessive freak under Oprah - this is something to avoid.
And once again I place all my hopes in the children. Kids today are the only ones interested in being or becoming a proper grown up. The best chance of electing a wise and sensible man(or woman)is by restrciting the vote to the under 35s.

In these times age merely shows what children we remain. To be 70 means 70 years of media and cheeseburgers, and it means you'll be dead in 10 years therefore what happens by that 11th year is irrelevant.
Maturity works in the oppposite way it used to do. The longer you're exposed to an infantilised world the more tainted you are by this.

That's what a narcissistic careerist who surrounds themselves with yes-men believe. Every act of "compassion" from someone like that is a publicity stunt to gain status and influence, the last thing genuine compassion believes in is avoiding the unhappy.

I reckon it also offends my sense of Britishness. To elect somebody famous as leader goes against everything we love about the underdog. If America's task was to find a president more blatantly false and anti-underdog than Donald Trump then this is how you'd manage that.

Yes Oprah has been having problems with her weight but she did look slim on the Awards
