lindsyjones: I think so, but I know however, I know that there are so many who would not agree with this statement.

First off you have to live in a country that is far better than America, ie SWITZERLAND, to laugh at this slogan. You can be very lucky and live in the other countries that can absolutely ridicule this statement or the goal of the President in making it great again.

I am referring to most of us, who once felt that this country was great and that it can get back its luster again.

Note: if 69 percent or so of the world are living in poverty and way below the standards of an ordinary American citizen, I am sure you say, America was great and that it can be great again.

Another note: Why would there be no other country that consistently for the past 50 years been sought by illegal immigrants?

Anyways good morning forum land and may you all have a good day.
I wish this was in USA forum.(But that forum is virtually dead)
I did a quick count, and approx 8 Americans on this thread.
IMO only Americans know what America needs. I am pretty confident with that.
I have posted on forums here on CS, in the past, from other countries, and it was not appreciated scold to say the least! Which shocked me, because I was agreeing with the desire for sovereigny.

I am out.. nothing to add. I save most political views for other sites moping

I doubt it, the rich and powerful have learned new ways to keep their money and stop it getting into the hands of the middle classes!

Has it ever occurred to you that if it's being spent it puts people to work? when America was a great country the workers had a great standard of living, or was that a coincidence?

It's relative but with some of Trump's goals, I'm sure it will get better.

Which of course, not true.

Money is the only best route in making more money. Definitely not under the mattress.

Extremely late but some one brought it forward again.

It depends on the people. Do they read what the government is saying first? DHS budget and expenditures? Trade results? Mandatory and discretionary spending costs and budgets? Crime rates? Employment and tax rates? Do they pay attention to how bickering goes in congress when they play politics instead of doing what they're supposed to do? There's a lot more than that to try sifting through. Do they even bother reading executive orders? Do they read any of the bills up for vote or passed?

Do they compare the results with any of the promises and statements made?

The media has a field day with the people from all sides of it. From many countries too. They're not the only ones toying with so many people. They try using bits and pieces to gain the results they want. If people aren't trying to put their puzzles together, it's going to be very hard to bring this nation back up to where it should never have been allowed to drop from.

An example would be the DHS budget and expenditures report. It doesn't match the idea that any planning for border security has been in the works other than more manpower, technology for monitoring and detecting, expansion and repair of FEMA camps, buildings, equipment, and other branches with their needed "support".

Executive orders point to deferred, available funds, for actual border wall replacement and repair plus added support to the respective agency responsible.

A bill specifies the type of structures and materials that can be used with a spending cap.

An actual leader serious about trying to keep promises, puts prototypes from various bidders through special forces testing and is able come up with an actual barrier that fully qualifies as a wall, to better secure the border. Construction finally begins. It will truly help with some root issues in the long run and lower over all costs to citizens from other expenditures.

What are the media and other sources pushing? Even some left leaning articles won't deny the need of such things even if it is with extreme venom. Others on any side will twist the crap out of it or specific aspects of it.

This is a simple, rough, example of the types of things that need sorted.

None of it is easy and with out collectively tracking it, no chance for all of it.

Maybe a better question would be how to truly get the citizens actually caring and involved again, to make the country great.

The land of the free and the home of the brave is not quite the same as rich people are better than poor people. Traditionally America was blessed because it didn't have the vanity of jingoism of Europe's feudal overlords. America was never the traditional snob, before you that is.

And I would be wary of claiming greatness off the back of being richer than poor people. America has a massive problem with poverty.
