Toothbrushes and toothpaste became popular in America after the invention of nylon bristles.
Most American women brush their teeth at least three times a day; and they like to kiss more, if you do too.
Maybe the fact that toothbrushes in England were made by a convict, in a prison, using pig hairs, is why they don't seem to have caught on over there?

I've always packed by weight or volume.
Even though Swiss Army knives have toothpicks... a list that makes it just about impossible to pack a toothbrush, toothpaste, and my Zippo really messes with my mind!
Zippos are great survival tools, because they can use so many kinds of fuel; and leaving it behind, because the fuel added up to 16 items, isn't a descicion I'd make in real life.
I kept trying to avoid it, and pretending like I thought you were talking about a dessert island; until it seemed like an interesting exercise.
It was fun.
I had to get back to packing everything possible, as long as it'll fit in a given space.
And the fact that my Zippo contains 6 or 7 things that most people would want in your thread, just made it a little more interesting.

mykingdomforanam: I make customized survival Zippos.
In my Zippos I put extra flints and wicks, a sewing needle, some fishooks, an exacto blade, and a credit card number.
They have hollow coins that hold sd cards; and I think I'll put one of those on the face of the next Zippo I buy.
On the case's belt loop I wrap 80# test Kevlar fishing line, and dental floss for thread.
I also adjust the wick for tricks, so that you can blow out your lighter, and have it light back up on it's own.
I even pack a few extra Zippos in my bug out bag, for trade items, when money doesn't work.
What else could you put in a Zippo Lighter, and the leather case it fits in?
