i had a secret place, difficult to reach, in the forest.
i would go there, and enjoy my aloneness...just sitting, sheltered, listening to the sounds of the creek and the forest, knowing i could not be found.

Riding my trail bike/dirt bike (motorized. Not a mini bike).
Loved the freedom of that. (Except getting stopped by the police, alot)

After school I will play kite or fishing on rice farm. When Mom find me, I know she will ask me to clothes n have food then angry. So before she angry, I take food, climb guava tree n hide there.

you reminded me of a time, several of us kids, were all getting yelled at by one girl's mother...
so all six of us climbed up streets knowing her mother couldn't climb a tree.
and we just stayed up there till she left...

i was hoping more folks would share some memories with us....
so here's another one.
often, in the early mornings when i was around 13 years old, my friend and i would go out to the barns and saddle up a couple horses.
we'd meander down the road, and if we saw any chocolate milk left on anyone's doorstep......we'd see if we could reach over without getting off the horses, and we'd nick it.
we thought we were so clever. but truth be told, it was a small neighborhood where everyone knew each other and in retrospect, i'm pretty sure the neighbors knew it was us...
