One2note: Anyone who drinks mulled wine on Christmas Day , doesn't deserve any rights in this world ...
,, Well John dearest,, i have never drank mulled wine on Christmas day, but will break that tradition this year and have a few, not because it is Christmas but because i had a couple of glasses a few weeks ago, and because i don't drink much lately i have decided that would be a nice warm drink ,should i decide to have a beavy.

Everyone has to believe in something.. I believe I'll have another scotch
As a family, we have always exchanged gifts, since we were little kids. I also exchange gifts with close friends. None have ever been unwanted, and none of us have ever got into debt for them.
On Christmas Day, we have a big family dinner, which I cook, and then that night I go to my best friend's house where we exchange our gifts and have a few drinks.
I don't go for any hype...I celebrate it my way and buy what I choose but within my budget....my biggest tradition I started for me is having irish coffee every morning until the bottle is gone...there have been years where that went on into the afternoon....but I digress.....
Christmas - like - government has been ruined by Capitalism . Out-do others - go into hock just to impress. Buy a 5 year old a $600 toy ? Just charge it on your maxed credit card - trophy for stupidity ! studecar

annaroach: When it comes to Christmas, Do you go along with the hype , the excess, the madness of shopping in huge crowds, the waste, the unwanted gifts, the debt incurred for people that can't really afford it.
I for one am not a traditionalist, and don't go along with all the madness !
I love Xmas and many other celebration times in life. Shopping. Crickey. The lady eye candy wandering shopping around is so pleasurable for my eyes . And wonderful stories they tell me too . Bless em wondering woman.

I used to have hot whiskey's while cooking the dinner, my son used to make them for me, I would keep saying, "will you make me another and another son, until , i had to get help with dinner But i have that memory , and laugh when i think of it.
I only managed to escape the mayhem once in my life ,, but that was more than 22 years ago , and I spent the day on the edges of the Sahara desert,, then the kids appeared . That put a stop to that but am planning the same again. Fancy a trip ??

I'm glad you enjoy it, and meeting the women, anything that adds to the cheer.
I'm not against it, i just think it is sad when we see those with too much and those with nothing to give to their children
I have lovely memories, and while we might not have had too much, we enjoyed Christmas As i discovered later in life, my older brother made stuff out of wood, toys for his younger brothers, He was brilliant with his hands, nobody knew any different and all were very happy That same brother we burried on Monday.
Christmases way back then were precious, but in my opinion, too much waste today

I always like to buy myself something special for Christmas.
