I recall sitting in the back seat of my parent's car as a young child, the exhaust fumes and the smell of my mother's hairspray wafting through and making me carsick as we travelled many hours to visit my brother who was detained in a naughty boys home conversing

Ahh, those were days purple heart laugh

I remember my grandad lighting up his pipe without a care in the world, and us all in the back of the Torana opening these gay flip windows that only opened about 2 inches. I miss the man with all my heart, and that Torana (which incidently was used in a bank robbery) would be worth about 50 grand these days. A very small car with a big engine.

Oh yeah I recall a woman I worked with a few years back banging on about her husband thinking about selling his prized Torana (I was secretly thinking yeah, whatevs confused ).

He subsequently sold it and gave the proceeds to one of their sons which was apparently a very nice deposit on his first home.

The dog used to follow us down the dirt road, and my grandma used to give it heaps when we got on the Pacific highway. We'd be all looking out the back and running a commentary how well he could keep up. It was a 3 on the tree, went heaps hard.

Yep column shift. But it made me think of my grandparents who were the most lovely people ever invented. And for that I am thankful.

We used to go on weekend pilgrimages at the holy shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, ohio in the summer on the annual Italian day. I ate so much pasta and meat balls and pork and bread that i’d fall asleep at one of the outdoor stations of the cross. laugh
