This day last year my house-mate said to me, 'wish me a happy women's day'. I did and then I asked her when was international men's day. She stared at me for a minute and then said, 'that's every other day of the year'......Why are we congratulated one day a year for being born a certain gender?

My Birthday today also, the only useful thing coming from International women's day is that my friends always remember it's my birthday on the same day lol.International Women's Day started in the USA in 1908, yet it is only in the last decade or so that any prominence has been given to this event, one has to wonder why?

I attended a few webinar events that were exceptionally positive with some amazing guest speakers. Sadly, I missed getting to a local event but my friends who went (male and female) said it was incredible. There's always next year.

Saw the seal.
Saw two sea-gulls chasing away a sea eagle. They succeeded eventually, but I's wondering what exactly has caused the commotion: is it possible that they were defending their chicks? Way too early: there's ice in some places, not much, but still...
Saw halo and tree roe deer as silhouettes against the sky.
The first Canadian geese have arrived, in a few days the fjord will be filled with clamour and life. But for now, it was mostly peaceful and silent. A perfect day.
