mikey4691: I remember watching The Monkees on Saturday mornings, after Bugs Bunny, and other great cartoons were done playing here in the States.. Was great to be a kid on Saturday morning back then..
Agree
I was a prepubescent 12 or 13 year-old when I fell in love with them, it was all about Davy of course
I went to the movies to see their movie Head which made no sense to me but I didn't care
bodleing2: Davy Jones (sadly not with us now) grew up not far from where I grew up. I remember not long after the Monkees became famous he came back here to visit his relatives. I remember trying to cycle along a main road near my house and there being huge traffic jam. It seems word had got out and the road near his house was blocked with thousands of screaming girls hoping to get a glimpse of Davy.
I think he returned to the States pretty quickly.
Peter Tork is also gone.
Mickey recently released a record of him singing Mike's songs. It's actually pretty good.

His home here was near me. He lived a good life a long the Okeechobee (Indiantown, a poor community) . A quiet life. He was a beloved respected member of the community in his area. His death was mourned. I was surprised at his choices of places. The way of life here is not for the soft. But he couldn't of picked a more loving community. It became his home.
