I spent many years after 'Nam flying the lonely skies at 40 thou or more and never saw anything unidentified--though please remember tha Unidentified Flying Object doesn't necessarily mean saucers and aliens. Many such things can happen in nature and otherwise, but I never even observed one of those.
I should mention one siting I took as the Base Ops duty officer at Laredo AFB. She called in and talked mostly to my NCO, since she spoke Spanish. She saw it out her car's rear window. We filed the report.
Years later I found out that area was on a secret corridor for SR-71 training. Now an SR-71 doesn't look much like a flying saucer EXCEPT from the front. That's what you'd see if one were overtaking you from the rear and it would rapidly disappear. USAF would not have wanted pics taken at the time, so it would not be admitted--the SR-71 was still secret.
But this is not a UFO cover-up.

I watched something one night that could be described as a UFO. My buddy came to my door one night after 11, he had a blank look on his face and just said "come see the ufo". I dressed up and left with him, on the way thinking it might be a fast moving satellite or something.

This was no satellite.

The light from it didn't even look like a light that was being generated by anything we know of, it had a very unusual tone and characteristics. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a marker light, more of a pure energy type of light.

It would hover in place, then literally in a flash of light, it would be on the other side of the sky at a dead stop. It would drop, climb, move instantly with no acceleration or deceleration, it was all instant. This thing was using a propulsion system unlike anything we have on this planet. There would be no point in shooting it down with a missile, it would make even the hypersonic missile look like a snail trying to catch a cheetah pumped full of meth and steroids. It would be many thousands of kms away well out of range before the missile even detected that it has moved.

We watched this thing from the time I left the house till the next morning, it just hung out in the sky doing very unnatural things. My only regret is not having a powerful flashlight, I would have tried to signal it and see what happened. I heard lots of abduction stories but never heard of a story where anyone got hurt.

I believe there is life out there but not here.
Most of you know of the Fermi Paradox, but did you every consider another goldilocks zone for the galaxy. That greatly reduces the fantastic number of planets that should be overloading us with alien visitors. On top of which civilizations rise and fall even on this planet, reducing the number still further. The time when people can go into space is fleeting and effectively it's not even here FOR US yet. Further, Roman roads can still be detected on this planet; ours will be fleeting; so more advanced civilizations leave no marks.

I have seen 2 or 3 and seen those fast orbs the size of houses. move incredibly. I understand a bit of electro magnetic propultion and what it takes to make something vanish in front of the eyes that see and more...

Yes, myself and another soldier on radio watch on top of a tank in Germany on exercise in the 70's. We saw a light in the sky, moving slowly. At first we thought it was a helicopter, it was a long way from us but we thought it was unusual for a helicopter to be displaying a light and flying in the middle of the night, then suddenly it shot up into the sky at a speed too fast for any aircraft we were familiar with. We decided it never happened and not to report it to anyone.

yes.many years ago.......this alian craft.....landed in my garden. aperson in a silver suit....stepped out and wee,d on my carrots.....i shouted out..........ooooooozzzz you dirty barsteward,he responded ,by poking one finger at me and flew off/...............
