You need to consider I've heard this nonsense everywhere, and I think my version is correct. Wuhan was a breeding ground for the outbreak of the virus in a new population. It was able to overcome locals only after it found such a fertile place to grow as the elderly academics. Even so, it didn't do well in the rest of China--even before the vaccines.
