Cant say what its like to have money for discretionary spending. Seems like most of it goes to europe and illegal aliens here for some time now.

The value of the dollar in the U.S. since Nixon (nor do I blame him for it) took us off the gold standard is that it can be used to pay taxes (as it was already in most of the world. What the Democrats hide is that inflation which they promote by printing more than they take in is an un-graduated tax on the those whose holdings are merely dollars not property . It affects the working poor even more than the middle class. But, of course, the Media will never notice. Nor the academics.
