No everything should be equal. Both people usually work now, so all household things should be shared equally as well.

i will be honest
i have come to believe and understand and grow
a desire to find a man to head the household
thus far-i realize i have not chosen men of that caliber deliberately
because of my history and insecurities i thot i needed to be in control
of everything
i didnt know i was doing it at the time
in this long period of solitude i have figured that out about myself
and lately come to think i could be part of that-
having a family thing-
but so far-and i havent been looking long-
havent run into that 'right balance'
but i have faith...if i wait and do not backslide,
regress for whats familiar/comfortable yet not fulfilling... or 'settle'
my best friend is a huge personality like me but has been able
to submit to her husband as head of the household
he often 'goes her way' as well-a partnership that includes a leader
can still be called a partnership
fer chrissakes-im exhausted from pulling the train by myself
for all this time...
plus its great to have someone else to blame once in awhile

I'm sure I'm going to get bashed for this answer...but.....here is my take on it.....
A couple, married or not, whom are living together should always discuss important decisions that have to be made....however, if and when they don't agree and a decision has to be made, I feel it is the man who should make the ultimate decision. We aren't always going to agree on everything, and sooner or later there is going to be a time when neither of us will want to budge.....he will have to step up and say "this is how it's going to be".......I might not like it, ...he might not get laid for a while, but....somebody has to take the lead and I think it should be the man....right or wrong...good or bad....
