we do treats rarely but not this time, but we do buy sodas... i bought 12 2 liter dr.peppers which will last about 1 1/2 weeks i drink 3 to 4 liters a day by myself of dr.pepper.
so maybe there is my splurge money on the ticket.
no chips ... occasional preztels and a rare french onoin dip for them
no cakes we will make pies or brownies about 3 -7 times a year.
a lot of fresh fruits and vegitables these are as expensive as steak at times...
I don't believe so, unless of course one buys free range meats and dairy products which are very expensive. Basics like fruit, vegetables and pulses are very cheap wherever you live.
A dish made of lentils. vegetables and a little ham if you eat meat. is much cheaper than an unhealthy McDonalds meal.
I just eat once a day........from 5 to 11 p.m. (lol) I probably spend around $300 to $350. But I drink a lot of soft drinks. One of my New Year's goals is to cut down on soft drinks.
But my $150 includes all, bottled water, fruits, vegetables, meat, bread, sausages, cheese, ............... All for eating 3 meals a day. one of them warm cooked food.

I eat vast amounts of food, no idea how much it costs me, but i would guess at about £8 per day £240 $480 per month. I use up so much energy, need the fuel.
Ah well I live in Spain most of the time so I'm talking about our lovely cured ham which contains more protein than fresh ham and has been proven to reduce cholesterol.
A dish of lentils veg and a little cured ham would cost me less than a euro here (significantly less than a McDonalds) so I guess what I said earlier about where you live and what you choose to eat has a bearing on all this.
Not sure how I got so addicted to cokes...but I go thru an amazing amount in a week. Always have one with me. It's not so much about the $, but I could put the $ in a better place than my tum-tum... (Maybe my grandaughter's college fund?)
I'm not sure about the euro thing, but here, milk costs $3.50 a gallon-more expensive than gas, and eggs are right around $2.40 a carton of just regular ones. The prices are outrageous...I thought that fresh ham was pork?
As for McDonalds, you can get a double cheeseburger for a dollar, but after watching "supersize me", I quit that one quick!!!
