dcj22: I was 18 and a hostess at a restaurant.

I was 14 and it was at an A&W Root Beer stand. I hookied school everyday and had a job as a car hop. But I looked older than my age and was able to hold this job for about 5 months before someone discovered I wasn't going to school.

First full time job was at a bakery...filling donuts at 4 AM everyday. I was 15 and living on my own, after running away from home

I was 14 and it was de-tasseling seed corn in the summer. Believe when you are 14 and getting up at 4 in the morning and working out in the fields until sundown many days it was not fun....

15 y/o worked at a gas station in fact because of labor laws half my pay was in cash.
that was back in the day that short sticking the oil stick to sell a quart of oil or other less than honorable ways of getting more money was not unheard of...

My parents would not allow me to work so I did not get my first real job until I moved away from home when I was 18.
It was working for the government.

I was 17 and worked in a travel agency in France during the Summer hols as I was studying for un BAC de tourisme (A Levels) ...

before that I used to work for a market stool holder selling fruit and Veg at the weekend from age 14 (illigal and getting paid cash in hand) ...

Also worked in a hotel/restaurant in Switzerland for 3 months in the summer just before starting Uni

And while I was at Uni I used to clean the offices for a Jewish Diamond cutting and selling company (my friend who was Jewish and their secretary got me the job as they needed someone "trustworthy" and was very well paid because of it )

My first REAL job was in a travel agency in UK before I started working in Education ...

I worked at an amusement park trying to convince people they could throw a dart from 25 feet away and in a three inch star and win a stuffed animal.

Nobody ever one, except one time, there was this really cute girl, she was close enough to the star for me.......and I DINGED THE BELL!

WE HAVE A WINNER!

My parents got a vineyard, I worked very early with them for the grapes harvesting time first (I was 11) then I learned the seasons's cutting later (I was 16). After, I always worked during school's vacations.... Now guess where does come from my passion for wines laugh wine
