If God knows everything then why do we need to pray?
Amazing is it not? God set it up this way as He wants us to communicate with Him.
You have not, because You asked not!
To me this is mind blowning that the Creator wants to communicate with YOu/Me

I wonder how much we would really pray if this was not so?teddybear

StressFree: Bnatur, now you just tapped into something there. Thoughts. Oh man, I really want to avoid getting balls deep into this cause of the exchange that will ensue.

Thoughts are consciousness, and our thoughts actually form and create reality. Our thoughts are powerful, just like memes. We think things into reality. Thoughts penetrate and form matter. Thoughts have a tremendous force of energy behind them. Uhm, what was I getting at? I just lost my train of thought

your caboose fell off, go back and retrieve it laugh thoughts are memes, consciousness personified, information code for reality. In some cases Einstein wasn't prooving facts he was creating them! Meme me up scotty! laugh

crotalus_p: you aperar to fo lost track of the conversation We where talking about Einstein’s personal thoughts/Beliefs on the subject of religion

so I did, you attentive little perveyor of logical aphorisms. laugh

however the 'fact' remains, whether it's god or science or religion, facts are at best only a solution or proof under the conditions which they are tested. Test god under the conditions of the believer and you find their reality.

Even (especially) the analytical mind understands this; but, Einstein is no more reason than any other to approve or disapprove anothers belief. Not sure why people bring him up as if he were the answer to all things. He was a smart man who contributed much academically, but he as many failings as Edison had in coming up with the light bulb. ( he should have spoke to tesla first LOL)

He is scientifically noteworthy, but no more a prover (or disprover) of god and the universe than anyone else really.

Actually my take on it is the opposite. Memes evolved from thoughts. A thought is the spark that a meme burns. No spark, no fire. A meme is descended from a thought. Yes, on a level thoughts are memes, but they are not the same as most would think...

onegoodguy1959: I get so tired of people like you taking quotes out of context

I have taken nothing out of context

onegoodguy1959: If I asked my daughter to go to the kitchen and bring me a piece of cake, she would easily understand that this was a one-time request directed specifically at her. She would understand this even if I asked her to do the same thing tomorrow.
You, mr. crotalus, would apparently assume that I was asking all people everywhere to bring me cake continuously from now until the end of time.

No I would not the two situations are completely different hence your point is mute , if you dont like what the bible says dont use it to deffened your faith

God does not need me to defend Him.
Yes you did take those quotes out of context.
They were specific directions given to specific people at a specific time for a specific purpose.

And don't wag your finger at me, it just makes you look childish.

Ok... but seriously memes are 'information', nothing more,. nothing less, just as genes are information, though they have mass (the transport) ... so too, are thoughts (information) the spark, my good man is and always will be 'energy'. They arrive and replicate because and only because of energy's kinetic property. From nothingness (potential energy) comes form (kinetic)

Constant repetitive thoughts are memes attempting to replicate within a closed mind, the closed mind driving itself crazy with energy spent inward.

If you want the Force young starbuck, you must first understand. KISS theory rules!professor

Correct a fictional character by definition does not need anyone for any thing , however you have a need to defend him

MikeHD: here is another for you...

(some of you have seen this one, but it's one of my favorites)

The theory of evolution of the Coca Cola can.

Billions of years ago, a big bang produced a large rock. As the rock cooled, sweet brown liquid formed on its surface. As time passed, aluminum formed itself into a can, a lid, and a tab. Millions of years later, red and white paint fell from the sky, and formed itself into the words "Coca Cola 12 fluid ounces."

Of course, my theory is an insult to your intellect, because you know that if the Coca Cola can is made, there must be a maker. If it is designed, there must be a designer. The alternative, that it happened by chance or accident, is to move into an intellectual free zone.

The banana -- the atheist's nightmare.

Note that the banana:

To say that the banana happened by accident is even more unintelligent than to say that no one designed the Coca Cola can.

oh, and before you go hurting yourself trying to find it...

wave mike!

I'm going to ask you this one more time, because I know how it troubles you to be confounded laugh

I'm sure you'll agree that the properties of energy are confirmed. i.e Can't be created or destroyed, so always was always will be, has no beginning, has no end, it merely 'transforms' <-- an important observation BTW.

Who created this energy Mike? Being uncreatable as it is? Seems it is already created, in fact it is the only thing in the universe that does any creating at all. (well proven) Godlike you might say.

Your coke can, is designed of necessity, a transformation of matter fascilitated by energy, however well or ill designed, ... as were your bananas. When your consciousness become aware you realise your god is 'I" ..... I want, I need, so I will design for it.
