Thank you all. My friend also suggested that I leave my sliding glass door open. The problem with that is that first, it's cold & my house would be freezing. Secondly, there are squirrels that run onto my patio. I'd hate to come home to find a couple of them running around in my house!
No, luckily I didn't get her declawed. I have a problem with taking their first knuckle off... just bothers me, although I did do it to my last cat & he was fine. Now I'm glad I didn't do it yet.

Minnie, please come home...
I'm so sorry this happened and hope she gets home soon. Is there a way (after reading about the squirrels) that you can leave some food and water outside for her? That might bring her home.
Also have you posted any notices up in your neighborhood in case someone took her in thinking her a stray? It is possible that you might get a call if you do.
Best of luck having your little one in your arms soon.
mylifewithu: She will hopefully return , but she most likely will be pregnant , cats don't have to be in heat to get pregnant.
Sweet, you and your cat are in my prayers, my cats over the years have also gotten out and I know what you are feeling, fortunately for me, MOST all of them hsve returned home.
For Mylifewithu: Um, with respect, everything I know from growing up on a farm and from my vets, cats DO have to be in heat to get pregnant.
The feline species, has some,um, different characteristics, that make it imperative for a female cat to be in full heat before she accepts a Tom. The Tom, you see, has a circle of barbs around and at the base of his P****. These barbs are in much the same shape as the barbs on farm, barbwire fence.
This serves too puropses: One it keeps him from being knocked off by another Tom when he is otherwise occupied. Two, when he is done, the barbs rake the inside of a female feline causing ovulation. The female is in pain when this happens, that is why females, for the majority of females will never accept a tom w/o being in full heat.
I have also read and been told, that it takes on an average of 13 times to get one kitten. All feline females have my respect. I would never have more than one litter if I were one, quite possibly never have more than one Kitten if I were them, owie!!!!

But she's also not SPAYED yet!!
If she does come home PLEASE don't have her declawed but do get her spayed. A cats claws are there for a reason and it isn't necessarily to tear up expensive furniture. If you value your furniture so highly as to consider declawing a cat then maybe you should have a dog instead. I'm sorry but this issue really bothers me. BTW, did she have some kind of collar on? This would help to identify her as belonging to someone as opposed to a ferral cat which might get shot on sight or dumped at the pound for disposal.

I understand what you are saying, and on the farm generally my outdoor cats followed a seasonal estrus cycle. But they also are induced ovulators. And nearly everytime I had a indoors unspaded female cat, also with my friends cats and they got out they got pregnant, and they weren't showing signs or behavior of being in heat.
This is what I copied from Wiki on Estru on cats> The female cat goes in heat has an estrus of 14-21 days and is an induced ovulator. Without copulation she may enter interestrus before reentering estrus. With copulation and in the absence of pregnancy, cycles occur about every three weeks. Cats are polyestrous but experience a seasonal anestrus in autumn and early winter.
~~~~~ So let's hope her's doesn't get pregnant. Something else about cats too, they can get pregnant again while nursing a litter of kittens. And is possible although a little rare, they can have multiple fathers to a liter. Let's just pray no matter what her beloved Kitty comes back home.
sweetowen: Right now, I wouldn't really care about the litter of kittens. I just want her to come home!
Don't worry about it too much...I've never had a cat but dog and whenever he ran away he always came back...now if a dog can do it a cat can(come back that it)
You just have to wait and see what happens. I feel sorry for you. I know how it feels to lose a furry friend. But I also have to say this : declawing is very cruel and you shouldn't do that to your animal. In Finland it's even against the law.
catwomen64: Afraid to ask ,any word? I have 5 n 2 outside,hence my name, will say a cat prayer.hope it works!!!!!!so sorry!!!!
Thank you. No, nothing yet. I've been putting food & water out on my patio for her. When I get home, the bowl's empty, but no sign of her. And I'm not sure if it's actually her, another stray, or the squirrels who come up on my patio frequently.
I hope you find her soon. I know my cats are my babies. I can barely hear my alarm clock in the morning, but I'll wake from a dead sleep at 3am if Chloe or Sofie coughs.
