four by fifty
I.
there once was, upon a time
a challenge made, to story sublime
from a gentleman, of worldly ways
to give account, tales to appraise
of times well spent, twisting yarns
stringing along with stitch and darns
what happens next is easily known
wonderful tales were spun and sewn
the end
I:(8*6)+2
II.
a beauty with auburn hair spied
a car comin' perchance to ride
pulled her skirt above her knee
the driver, eyes wide, did see
much of what he's lookin' for
depressed his brake and opened door
then what came next I cannot say
my taxi turned left and sped away
II:(6*6)+(2*7)
---
III.
to know what he wanted the old man prayed
with folded hands and down on bended knee
fervently he whispered for a sign heavenly displayed
then thunder rolled and light flashed heaven's decree
for what you ask the answer must be
that you, given free will, will choose indubitably, you see
III:(5*8)+10
---
IV.I
child plays along a path
walking, comes a short giraffe
child looks a bit confused
tall giraffe with height unused
asks giraffe to please explain
silent giraffe looks in vain
all know giraffes don't talk
ambling on giraffe did walk
further on, turned his head
"just because" he quietly said
IV.II
child follows the low giraffe
asks repeat, a social gaffe
the giraffe puts head down
child climbs neck, turns around
together they walk off quietly
into forest deep so silently
child begins, a singing song
lyrics unknown, giraffe hums along
sometimes when you hear duet
child, giraffe, be my bet
IV: (10*5)*2

Entertaining write.
I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks.
Lovely writes, Darlin'.
A terrific quintet for the challenge, and like the others who have commented, I especially like the giraffe poems.
An enjoyable read.
Cheers
