A cave so deep and dark and dank Is where I want to be No light to shine, no breath to stir To hide myself from thee
My sins upon my neck I wear A chain that weighs me down Grief, anger, pity, hate My bedding they do make
A voice it whispers in my head Love, forgiveness, it does speak Open your heart and open your eyes Let the light shine in
Dare I hope, Dare I believe After all I've done, all I have been Words spoken, acts committed That someone cares for me

About this poem:
Wrote this one a few years ago. Everyone sometime in their life hits the depths of despair. Sometimes just a kind word can make all the difference to the person.

Yes, Steve I hope that everyone has someone who cares about them, no matter what they have chosen to do with their lives. You can love someone, while not necessary loving what they do.

Very touching Steve, the one who gives you less is in fact teaching you more.
Words can do wonders, I agree, especially kind, soothing and gentle words. They are enough to put you in a positive mood and make you smile and believe: you are not alone - there is someone who cares about you. Thank you.

Is where I want to be"
Those few words right there says so much about me when I feel that way. And yes a kind word, look, touch can make all the difference in the world.
