A night storm across the lake Make swirling dark clouds rise For crashing thunder's shake Make going outside most unwise Long the lightning's make A blinding in my eyes And causes some heartache To shutter my worried sighs Now lost in dreams forsake In a boat to make capsize I search for safe windbreak Sheltered harbor I surmise Calmness clears at daybreak To a gentle soft sunrise

Storms are such great inspiration for poetry and literary thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
How well you tell this tale of personal danger - it's a blessing that you are still around to relate those terrifying events.
Best wishes
