As the sun slowly crests the horizon Life stirs, the world awakens You can feel the earth move beneath your feet As if slow rhythmic breathing And as you lay your ear to the ground You can almost hear a faint heartbeat It is then you feel one with the earth As you surrender to the peace of the morning

If I put my ear to the ground, I would have an earful of snow!

Hi Macduff5,
Had to read Wordsworth's "Upon Westminster Bridge". It is an honour to be put in the same sentence as one so great as Wordsworth. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks mcradloff for the comment ... however I would suggest that you do not put your ear to the ground as this might cause it to be frozen and then drop off ... if this was the case you might have to give up poetry and take up painting ... and please don't send your ear to anyone.
