Day Dreamer

One day my life will change for the better,
thinking and dreaming of times gone by,
wanting so very much to get another letter,
looking into your eyes and letting out a sigh,

As one gets older you start to reminisce,
wondering if you have fulfilled your hearts desire,
that soft tenderness of yours I do so miss,
we had for such a short time so much fire,

Spring has now broken through,
and the warmth of the sun tingles my skin,
you could have been here with me too,
love at times can be so fragile and thin,

Sun breaks through clouds like a streamer,
I hope your safe and looking well,
and I sit here still being that day dreamer,
maybe we will meet again one day, who can tell.

About this poem:
We all sit and think of those whom we felt great affection and love.
Been a little while since I penned anything so my thoughts are reflected here.

Stedan, this is so tranquil to read and takes me back, to sit and ponder in a good state of mind, of past memories, you have told a beautiful story in such a loving way, I have felt like this myself and although the love is lost you can still think affectionately towards the loss of it and the greatness of what it once was

Thank you Angel, yes when we think of those good times it all makes sense why we fell in love and it is those moments that our hearts and minds cherish.

So very poignant: love is still here, hasn't gone anywhere, and will probably never go. But here is also a soft acceptance of pain, which is always there, but no longer hurts as it used to - just a sweet reminder and a little hope for maybe again some day you both will meet. Sounds like a healing in progress. Good you are back, dear poet, welcome to this corner!hug bouquet
