Walls of doubts formidable Strong and unbroken I am left in the deserts Of squandered moments Freedom I've accorded you So you'd know your heart And return the memories Of stolen lives Could it be That if chance will put you back To the threshold of their hopes You'd give the price Of which was lost In the prime of their youth? Quarter of a century That you used for your losses A balance of what's owed From their innocence Ah but you knew It wasn't you that pegged the price For the value of their stolen tomorrow You think it wasn't even a call Of pure ethics and moral That she was a contempt Of the evils you lured Or was it her that trickled the bait So you'd surrender and fall The sheepskin of an angel Covered in the shears of wolves.
Was it?

About this poem:
I remember whom I was thinking of when these lines came to me.
I was concerned about human trafficking and how they're lured to feed the greed of the mighty.
Misfortunes will always fall on those that are weak. Yet blameless because of innocence.
