beneath the mackeral sky on the rivers bend in the shade of the tree we let our bodies mend the breeze cooled my thoughts and took them far away the sun warmed my bones giving movement some say the birds played their tunes upon my heartstrings natures orchestra the beauty that it brings the river's receding tide scouring the land amazing my eyes as if sculptured by hand the bush and its smells my lungs did admire but the presence of you engaged my soul's fire your lips like strawberries so full and sweet your touch like a feather soft and discreet your passion like a fire blazing away your laughter dessert on this beautiful day........

About this poem:
enjoying father's day with my lovely wife , tinky touring ........
Thanks SCatlyn........yes september for fathers day in oz i think its the first sunday .........it was an awesome day exploring the coast and then the river system north of here .....nature has a way of mending the mind and the body and its always a pleasure showing Kathy new areas .........
Under the tropical heat a refuge under the trees nature's magic captivates two hearts that appreciates Mother Nature's healing power, beauty and grace lavishly and lovingly portrayed in the songs of the birds in the rustling of the leaves in the blades of grasses that sways in the faces of wild flowers sweet and the bubbling sound of cool water on our feet rejuvinating minds and bodies!
this day with you for a lifetime a moment I'll cherish

Beautiful, soothing poetry... 'Down by the river...our bodies mend...'
Sounds like the mind is able to 'mend' as well - entirely lovely!
a refuge under the trees
nature's magic captivates
two hearts that appreciates
Mother Nature's
healing power, beauty and grace
lavishly and lovingly portrayed
in the songs of the birds
in the rustling of the leaves
in the blades of grasses that sways
in the faces of wild flowers sweet
and the bubbling sound of
cool water on our feet
rejuvinating minds and bodies!
this day with you
for a lifetime
a moment I'll cherish
Thank you my dear for this lovely poem...
