My heart is thumping We are going to meet at last Heart keep pumping My heart is full of feelings I've amassed I'm befuddled, I'm anxious, I'm not sure what I am but I'm not myself. I'm usually calm and cool and don't wince under pressure. I guess this means I really, really think this is crucial. Thought I'd be cool but God I feel like a fool. Panic city! What to do? What to say? Calm down you dufus. She likes you for who you are doesn't she? So I'll just be myself. There are millions of people who pretend to be someone else. Maybe she just wants someone to be themself and not play silly games. That's what I want also so just calm down and be your charming self BoyshChrm and all will be well. I want it to all go well so badly. Strange phrase "well so badly"...don't use that...it might be a jinx. Now I'm stressed again Mercy!! Gotta get this over with!! Oh what pain!!
And this above all unto thine own self be true and it shall follow as the day the night - thou can'st not then be false to any man. - William Shakespeare
this may seem odd. prior to meeting another face to face for the first time, in communications with them, I have suggested and explained the reasons why, that at first contact, perhaps we might embrace.....a soft hug if you would. this simple act (I would only try this if acknowledged by both parties), seems to ease awkwardness and soothe one's nerves. the actual physical touching, though in innocent fashion, seems to give one another a comforting feeling of common ground. good luck boys!

i think, for me,the meeting part seems easy, its when you can't think of what to say to her, thats when things get akward, nice poem, well expressed!
Thanks Andrew. Strange thing is whenever I do meet someone the first time as soon as I see them I do become perfectly relaxed, talkative, at ease and charming. Go figure...
Thanks EarlgreyT. Guess most on here have experienced this. Honesty best policy. Sometimes frailties are endearing. Just don't let anyone see you sweat!
Thanks Dreamwolf. Luckily I'm blessed with the gift of gab.I can rattle on about next to nothing sometimes and I think that works. The worst is those awkward pauses. The trick is to ask questions as you go and have a backup joke or cute story. If cute doesn't work I really don't want to know her anyway...lol.
Thanks Jazzy. Neeeeerrrrvoooos, who's nnnneeervooooos.... NNnnnnoooot I Jazzzzzzzzzzzy!!!!

It doesn't matter how many I meet I'm never any less nervous haha. I hate getting there first and start to say to myself. Don't show up! Please? A lot of the times they don't haha. Funny then I'm a tad disappointed. Sad ey?? Great poem loved it

And yes... there are a lot of us out here who want someone to be themselves.
I believe this... "if they aren't with you, they weren't for you, but how can they find you, if you're not being you?"
But perhaps I'll explain in rhyme
The problem is that they are very few
