good title GNJ for today. A good balance and a wonderful word to express all that this day means to many. Interesting how "scence" kind of fits / plays the flower rebirth and scents. ;-)

Hi, hedistuff, I'm glad you found my poem interesting and thank you for your comments. In reaction to the scene, my mind was going in multiple directions, resulting in this poem. I am hoping that each reader will discover many levels of meanings within the poem.

Hi, EarlGreyTea, I always appreciate your comments! Some say that, in order to interpret a poem, one needs to understand the history surrounding the poet. Although there is perhaps some truth to that, I do not view anyone's poem as being limited by that history. Hopefully, a poem's meaning transcends the immediate impetus to write it, with each unique reader discovering (or creating) meaning, or not, during the reading process.
