Crow Black above the Green

Crow black above the green;
________along the fence they wait
________as forty feathered legions

wait as snipers wait;
_____________in the farthest fields
_____________lie in want of spoils

for as the farmer tills;
______________so the miller mills
______________so the hunter kills

Crow black above the green;
____________thus beneath the sun
____________nature's work is done

FargoFanonline today!
A mournful mob
Gather nearby
Pehaps to chat
About what?
Currawongs
Magpies
Crows
Large birds
That crap fruit
Upon Our cars

Someone tells me
Here I should
not respond to poems with poems
So I rather scoff with
the fixed yellow eyed
glaze of a crow
Haunched on a stump
A lump
Eyeing the dead possum
With hidden delight

(psst, not my favourite bird by a long shot!)

Good posting Fargo, one of the distinctive attributes of arriving in Australia is that within 15 mins you'll hear the first crow call, waaark. We have no crows but do have rooks of the same family, and of course pesky magpies.

Nicely written Ocean,
Crows just come from nowhere as soon as an opportunity appears.
